Hello all! I plan on making a few custom beds for the Gavril D15...I don't expect to put a ton of time into these but if there are enough rock crawling enthusiasts here I'm sure I could put the extra time in to make proper jbeams for the beds. Think truggy and prerunner, my basic plans are Bobbed bed to fit Torsion's chopped frame Dovetail bed Dovetail'd and bob'd probably will be too short, but we'll see (maybe) Dovetail flatbed (go on youtube and look up "Chevy K10 1 Ton Build part 14", skip to 2:20) Regular flatbed that isn't ugly like the stock one bed skins for custom back halves Future plans if I ever get good at this Custom back halves to fit the bed skins, with more available up travel and more droop Possibly custom fiberglass style fenders This will probably stay WIP until the end of time because I'm lazy and have my own real truck to build. As you can see in the attachment, the bed sides float. I plan to add mesh trusses to purdy it up 22R
This is where it gets a bit confusing. I would think most people who could appreciate this mod use Torsion's D-Up mod...but those who don't would be confused when the mesh struts go thru the frame lol. I guess I'll have to add them like the tool boxes, bed side struts, and bed side struts (5in lift). It the chopped rear quarter panels look less funky without the body lift
DOH! AR162B already made this mod...sorta. He made race bed sides with struts, a full roll cage that goes from the cab out to the frame rails. That's kind of a bummer but it's not like it was an original idea by any stretch. I'll keep working on the bobbed and dovetailed beds. The way torsion made his D-up mod works really well. the struts don't really matter and as long as they match up with the lift blocks, they will look good without body lift too. Somewhere along the way it turned orange? missing texture I guess.
I agree, I just get a bad feeling when the cage doesn't connect to anything haha EDIT I just got it in game after a couple hours messing with the cage and getting the tubes to stick, and the cage needs to be shrunk a lil so it's not clipping in the headliner. I've been up for 30 hours off one five hour energy so it's time to catch some shuteye.
It's a mod dedicated to custom d15 rear ends...I don't think "D15 custom back halves" has the same ring to it As for the cage, I messed up a bit being new to BeamNG modeling. Most models for other games have the interior as part of the body, but beamng separates them. I'm going to redo the cage with the interior in place because the clipping is really bad and the cage is bad overall.
Good eye! brownie points to you Yep, I made sliders. I know with the way the game is, they will probably cause more problems than they solve (i.e. you won't be able to pivot off them like a real slider because they will hang up), but they look cool. No Jbeam for them, so if someone wants to make one I have no issues with that.
to fix those orange textures check the materials in blender. for the bed it should just be "pickup" after that it should work.
The pack, Offroad Parts by Taza, has a cage for the D15 i'm pretty sure. Do you have an ETA on any of the parts?
Even with the sliders having no real use other than aesthetic, I still must say that it looks great. Are there any plans to incorporate any tires/rims onto the truck?
Is it bad that the orange has grown on me? Makes the work that I've done stick out.
