Update Speculation thread

I hope the Bluebuck gets added next!

 

I believe that somebody confirmed that but I'm forgetting who.

 

According to Gabe it will be the Bluebuck then the Wendover (of the cars the community currently knows about). Maybe a vehicle not on the "to be released" list will come before, maybe not.

 

Just out of curiosity, has anybody found any information about the order in which existing vehicles without second UV maps will receive them? I know that UV mapping isn't exactly a high-profile task that generates a lot of interesting screenshots, but has there been any indication that a particular vehicle is the current focus?

 

It looks like Italy is going to be finished a whole lot sooner than most people think.

 

He said only a few spots were finished, and after that there is the details and bugfixes.
0.11 Italy + Wendover update? 0.10 will most likely have WCUSA, maybe the wendover. There will definitely be other features, like a leaderboard (just an example). Then a few smaller updates, 0.10.1, 0.10.2, etc. Then 0.11, with Italy and the Wendover.

 

In no way is it finished... the basic layout is here, but that's it.

 

I wouldn't go as far as call this only the basic layout:

...but I wouldn't either be confident enough to say that it's very close to be done.

 

I agree that it looks like Italy will be done sooner than many people were saying (I've heard some people say they think it won't come until this time next year). I think we can all agree that it is not done at the moment, no one here said it is. Closer than some think, yes. Closer than most think, maybe. Done, no.

And I don't see the Wendover coming in the next update. I think at most it will be the Bluebuck and WCUSA, but I honestly doubt that the next update will have a new vehicle at all.

 

Man, the devs have been active with showing off all sorts of stuff for the upcoming 0.10 update. New trailers, (potentially) new sounds, (potentially) a new map, and (possibly) a new Quickrace method. However, I'm still unsure as to when the Bluebuck will arrive. It's (most likely) been the only unreleased vehicle that gabester, B25Mitch, stenyak, and the other vehicle devs have worked on for the past three or so months, so it (theoretically) should be arriving soon. That is all determined by when an in-game screenshot of it is shown. Considering that the LeGran had a couple in-game screenshots of it shown a week before 0.8 dropped, it's highly likely that this may repeat itself for 0.10 (depending on how complex the 'Buck has been, how many configurations are planned to be released when it arrives, how many parts can be ported from other vehicles (such as the Barstow's engines) for it, and how many released vehicles will receive more content (examples (these are only speculation and not meant to be taken seriously, and some of these were not mentioned by the devs):. K-Series race car, Hopper four-door/V8 variants, K/800 V8 variants JBeam re-working for the LeGran, second UVs for the vehicles which don't have one, more props that we don't know of, etc.)). That means that the Bluebuck could be in 0.10, but it could also be in a smaller 0.10.1 update or something like that (if this does happen, I project 0.10.1 to be roughly 2-3 weeks after 0.10) which could add some smaller stuff to the game that didn't come in 0.10.

 

Italy is nowhere near ready atm

Sounds are up in the air at the moment, the sound engineer is working, but assume that they want to release all the updated sounds at once.

On the smaller content, their focus is elsewhere at the moment. They want to get the promised content done ASAP, then they will add the polish later on.

 

That's why I said "(potentially)" or "(possibly)", and the map that I was referring to was West Coast, USA. I can understand why they would want to get the big stuff out of the way first, but 0.8 and 0.9 were also full of little features and smaller content additions, so I expect that 0.10 will be similar to this (although more biased towards the big stuff like WCA).

 

Oh, WCA is probably ready and in final testing now (according to a recent screenshot by B25Mitch)

 

I doubt a 4 door Hopper will come anytime soon (Gabe said they don't do many body styles for passenger cars at the moment because they usually don't offer much diversity compared to how much work they take to implement).

I know they promised more parts for the K-Series, but with how long it has been I have a feeling they are waiting for something (perhaps after major content is delivered so it doesn't take away recourses needed elsewhere). The modern ETK's have huge engine bays, I am sure we will get something bigger than a V8 some day.

 

The k series might get a v10 or v12 someday but i dont see that happening with the 800 since neither a audi a4 merc c class or bmw 3series ever had a v10 or v12 from factory

 

We might see the D-Series tow truck in the next update...

 

i personally dont want to know whats coming. I like to be surprised for when and what.

I think it's gonna be just Italy and the usual bug fixes/performance patches. As much as I want the Bluebuck I don't think it'll be released alongside the Italy map.

OR the Bluebuck gets released alongside West Coast in 0.10

 

or we get both Italy and WCA. @LJFHutch stated that the map is almost done.
