You may struggle somewhat with that budget. You may wish to consider buying a factory refurbished unit or perhaps even second hand. But I am not familiar with how far Aus$ will get you with tech.

I would highly recommend you check out "Notebook check" since they do really in depth reviews on a lot of laptops.

The Dell 15 7000 is probably one of your better options: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-Inspiron-15-7000-7567-Gaming-Notebook-Review.196454.0.html

It is generally regarded as one of the better budget gaming laptops on the market. Base model has an Intel I5 and GTX1050ti. I could only find the I7 model from a quick google.com.au search, maybe if you dig around you can find someone selling the cheaper model.

If you can find anything cheaper with an Intel I5 and GTX 1050 (or above) then that may also be worth looking into.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to check them out:)
As for the budget, 1000AUD is equal to around 600GBP. I did a quick ebay search for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 machines, they all seem to range from 1000-1500AUD, and all seem to come with the i7 CPU. That said, I did find one listing for an i5 equipped machine here, which is a little cheaper at 800AUD (though they appear to be out of stock at this time).

In any case, I'd be willing to pay up to 1500AUD (~900GBP) for a good machine, so long as my current one hangs in there there's no rush;)

BTW, would there be much advantage in opting for the i7 model compared to an i5?

If you render or play BeamNG.drive alot, yes. But for gaming? The I5 is better bang for your buck.

Good to know:) I will naturally be playing a lot of BeamNG among others, as well as AO baking for models, so with that in mind it may be worth getting an i7

Just remember the i5 4460 can run 4 semi mixers at 72 fps I wish I knew what to upgrade to
I will definitely keep this computer alive though (the only one I have)
This computer is in rough condidition considering the board and gpu have issues with each other
What kind of build should I start next? like board and processor?
I kinda contemplated turning this computer into a slower dual core processor computer with the Gtx 950 and move my i5 4460 to a msi gaming 5 board when I buy it
or should I just buy a newer board and processor
    choices choices

Here is what I do most of the time plus the games I play

I video edit and photo edit as well as code for beamng (and resetting vehicles takes a bit)
    The games I play:
    Space Engineers
    Spintires
    Supreme Commander 2
    Beamng.Drive
    Automation
    Assetto Corsa
    Car Mechanic Simulator 2015
    From The Depths
    Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
    And sometimes ETS2

I found an old monitor, so I put it on my desk which has my TV and media pc next to it, so if i ever want to work in my bedroom (as my main setup is downstairs) I can. I have another wireless keyboard on the desk, too.

So my pc just suddenly shut down and it now wont power on again. I already looked if everything still is connected and my room has power to so i dont know what else it could be the only thing im guessing it could be because the power supply is quite hot so maybe that has overheated

How hot is hot? Your power supply might have just died. What brand and model is it?

Its not so hot that i get burned when i Touch it its more like a power supply thats been on a while. The power supply itself is a corsair rm750x wich i bought 3 months or so ago so its really rather new

I can't see it being the power supply then, does it show any signs of life at all? Start removing all un necessary parts, Video card, drives, etc.

A glimmer of hope, like I said above start troubleshooting by removing part's that aren't required to post so video card, drives, fans, I/O connectors like USB and front panel, use a screwdriver to jump the power pins on the motherboard. That way we can isolate it to a Motherboard, Processor or RAM issue.

even with a bad connection if you get some power to your power supply it should be able to turn on your computer for a tad bit even after you remove the whole cable

When troubleshooting be sure to check everything, mainly connections, I learned the hard way and put a gtx 950 in a damaged slot

    Interested in seeing the slot?
