That is a terrain mesh RESOLUTION limit, not a limit on size. You can upscale the terrain as much as you want to make the terrain as large as you want. If you could convert the maps from ETS2 into collada mesh files, I'm sure you could import them the same way as Skyper, Yotaak and other people who have used mesh terrains have done. You may run into problems with the map being so large, but I'm sure its possible.
Hes assuming that because the limit on importing terrain files is set to a resolution of 4096x4096, that you cant have any terrains larger then that.
You can set how many meters or whatever per pixel though. That would then multiply that number, but you would end up with less detail in the terrain.
adding the wings from the bolide to the gavril d15 (i kind of want to fly a truck, heheheheh): (imported from here) if anyone would like to help jbeam, hit me up in a pm (no seriously, i suck at jbeaming, so, if you'd also like this, and know a bit of jbeam, pm me, otherwise it'll be a while (also, drowsysam, if you don't want people to use your wings, pm me, ill delete this post, and keep it private ))
those wings wouldn't fly that truck. You should scale them up a bit. They're too small for the bolide too but it works because the drag coef was set higher (i think) - - - Updated - - - would this less detail thing still apply to a 3d model type map like laguna seca?
No, because importing 3D models doesn't have a resolution limit like importing a terrain files does. So like I said in my first post, importing the map in 3D model form would theoretically work; but may have some problems.
Stick your mesh quality on lowest and then try to drive over to that little ring track thing to the right of the spawn on Grid, just a few problems (namely crashing into it before it actually renders)
you know the cave on the grid map? In the middle where that water area is there is a hole in the top of the cave. If you put the mesh to lowest the hole gets covered up but you're still able to fall through.
InsaneGaz's insane testing map, the rocks on the cliffs dont render until youve already totalled. Most of the cave you mention has no floor. SevenNemesis has a map with a rock crawling area where the rocks dont render. I could go on but those are just the ones I can think of from the top of my head. 2 of those maps are 3rd party so I guess its acceptable.
Yeah i don't have any problems onother maps and grid map was just kinda thrown together so i don't mind
yeah i don't get it either. It just looks like the van with no bumpers and different wheel jbeams maybe?
