Supercharged flat-twin? Hell yeah ...Ok after chearching a bit last 403 Supercharger was sold for 1500€...Yeah I think I'm gonna stick with 205 carburators.
Three videos for sharing today. Cory's winning pull in the work stock diesel class. My buddy Kenny's first time pulling his 78 K20. Granny gear in 4-Hi with 4.10 gears and 265/75's. Next time he's going to run smaller tires. Yesterday's first compact heat, with my buddies Ira and James, with Ira in the grey and red #13 Taurus and James in the #29 red and black Chevy Celebrity that says "GRIFF" on the trunklid We built Ira's Taurus in a week, and it could have been a real contender if It had a decent alternator, it died and and it didn't have enough power to start it again, we put a new battery in it and drove it on the trailer. James's Celebrity was a better built car, but the steering column dropped and killed everything.
On the topic of driving school i heard that alot of driving schools started to include a simulator i searched it and i find it highly unrealistic. Also i think beamng would be a better way to do that as its alot more realistic
As interesting as that would be to see, beamng doesn't have much of a way to have realistic traffic and city driving, etc. (At least for now...) It might be suitable for driving maneuvers and road courses and the like. However, something like City Car Driving would be much more suitable for a driving school as it was designed for learning and practicing driving in the first place.
Call me weird, but I'm actually considering a Pontiac Aztek for my first car because of the practicality, the 6 cylinder engine, and the uniqueness of it. Not to mention they're incredibly cheap for a well maintained example. And, who else will buy it? Lol
I'm considering getting either an '01-04 Buick Century, a Chevrolet HHR, or an early-2000s Toyota Corolla for my first car, so an Aztek isn't too far down from my top-three choices.
Also, if you plan to drug deal its hard to spot the Aztec because of it's shape and bodylines, so drug dealers love to use it. (just joking but the fact is true I think) and the same guy designed the Corvette C7.
Don't do it to yourself. Those are awful cars. Cheap, plastic-y, early 2000s GM crap. The 6-cylinder is misleading. It's still a painfully slow and non-sporty car. Car and Driver's 0-60 mph time was 10.8 seconds. Apparently someone thought it would be a good idea to have an Aztek be the pacecar for the 2001 Daytona 500. I wish I was making this up. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2001-PONTIAC-AZTEK-DAYTONA-PACE-CAR-1-71958
I don't need a fast car for my first one. I might still consider it if I hear good things about its reliability.
I'm thinking a bronco II or a jeep cherokee as my first car since both are reliable, cheap, and all weather. I was considering an early s10 blazer but from what I can find the 4.3 vortec is crap and most of the ones around here are shot 4x4 4 doors or 2wd 2 doors that would suck in snow there are very few good ones for the same price as a clean bronco II or a cherokee. any other suggestions? I have looked at several semi sporty fwd cars and all of the ones for sale in my area are bases, beaters or riced and good ones are expensive and the subarus are the same price as a clean example of ether of the 2 suvs
The 4.3L is an okay engine. I've never really heard anything overly negative about it. The 2.9L in the Bronco II liked to crack cylinder heads. They were also very tippy. The Jeeps are decent besides rust really. You're kind of in a crap shoot with all 3 of these. The earlier Explorer's have the 4.0L V6 and those are very good engines.
the bronco did that only if overheated and weren't as tippy as you'd think but I'm probably doing the bronco or the jeep because the blazers are hard to find in decent shape around here although if I could find a 4.0 in a junkyard I probably would swap it in for the extra hp and torque
If you want 4 cylinder performance, 8 cylinder fuel economy, and 6 cylinder roughness. Then sure, the 4.3 Vortec is a great engine. My Mustang has the 4.0 in it. Driving to Canton, Ohio and back for a trip I was able to achieve 27 MPG once or twice, averaging 23-24. But it's not without it's flaws. The timing chains are basically glass, good thing they aren't interference engines I suppose.
The 4.3 is a reliable engine that is cheap and easy to fix if it does break, but they kinda suck. They don't make much power but they'll drink about as much gas as a 5.7. redrobin put it well; 4 cylinder power, v8 fuel economy, v6 refinement.
They put out good power. Roughly on par with other V6s from the time. (All 1997) 4.0L Cologne 160hp @ 4250rpm/225 ft-lb @ 2750rpm 4.2L Essex 205hp @ 4950rpm/255ft-lb @ 3700rpm 3.9L Magnum 175hp @ 4400rpm/225ft-lb @ 3200rpm 4.3L Vortec 200hp @ 4400rpm/255ft-lb @ 2800rpm Like I said though, they are okay. Not great. When you start reaching back this far though, it doesn't matter as much as maintenance. Kind of funny because in 1997, the 4.6L Modular V8 only put out 190hp. It did have 260ft-lb of torque though. My 4.0L Ranger didn't get great mileage even with the manual. It got about 17mpg around town but, I did have 4.10s.
The only thing wich would be needed for it would be another ai mode and a small city map because you can spawn up to 12 vehicles on a good pc and if the map is small enough its going to seem like normal with the ai roaming the streets
