This thread is for your stories about the scariest moments you've had in video game.

For me, it would be when I was playing Midnight Club: Los Angeles. I was in my '55 Chevy Bel Air being pursued by the police. I was coming up on an intersection and a long city bus was in the middle of it and though to myself, "I'm dead meat."

I bought Fallout 4 on the steam summer sale recently, my first fallout game. (I decided to buy far harbor on the last day of the sale because I liked it so much and have put more hours than I care to admit into it in one week). The first time I ran into a deathclaw in the wild I was terrified because of how hard it was for me to kill in power armor in the minuetemen mission. I was running from a pack of super mutants through a field of radscorpions just to find that. I just ran away. The next time I found one I was bored and ready to end the play session so I figured I would just quicksavw and suicided in for some laughs. I killed it in seconds with an automatic marksman pipe rifle and it only did about 1/4 my HP to me. I was really surprised by how easy it was I got alittle assistance from Strong though .

My first assaulttron encounter wasn't too scary because I didn't know what it was. I was very confused when it came running at me with its shabby blade arms, and even more confused when it called me a "warmongering human" even though it started the fight. Same confusion over fear goes for my first behemoth encounter. I just set a trap with some mines, got some headshots in with a plasma infused rifle while it was charging me, then finished it off with some missiles. At least that's how the encounters went when I actually killed them... Died a few times with both of them... I guess the moral of the story is it's easier to kill what you fear then what you don't understand.

Another one for me would be when I was playing ETS2 and I was going on the roundabout thingy that merges onto the freeway, when it slowly started to tip. Long story short, had to cancel the delivery because I didn't know how to call the roadside services.

That happened a few times actually.

It was a very long time ago, when I was still playing Minecraft. We had a small server with a friend and some weird stuff started happening. Mobs were spawning at places they shouldn't, there was weird tunnels with Redstone torches under our houses, some weird houses in bricks were spawning for no reason, some signs were appearing from no where with weird messages on them, when we were sleeping we had some stuff spawning in our inventories (Like Tnt and stuff) and before we had decided to delete everything some weird glowstone/glass structures were spawning everywhere.
I take Minecraft a bit more "Seriously" now.

Funny story, when I first got the APC in GTA TBOGT, I drove over to Leftwood, Alderney, and got a wanted level somehow. I was distracted, and all I heard was " Guess who's getting shot in the face" , and then a state trooper ( same one as my profile pic) opened the door and dragged me out, I ran, getting 2 stars, then I was gunned down by an ASP officer with an assault rifle outside the police station.

This all happened late at night, so it was pretty intense.

Today, I was in ETS2, with promods and rusmap (pretty nice!) and some moron AI in a BMW outside of St. Petersburg decided, I could turn before this Kamaz (my truck) pulling a wind turbine. As you guessed, I slammed into the side of the car, swerved, hit one of those pedestrian safety pole things, did 32 percent damage to the truck, but none to the cargo. Russian... am I right (no offence to good Russian drivers in real life or in games)

In the 2001 game Aliens vs Predator, you can play as the Alien, the Predator or a Marine. At a certain point of the Marine campaign, you asre forced to run. It's your only option. If you try to resist, an endless supply of Aliens will keep coming at you. If you try to get away backtracking to shoot some down, you will get killed because there are too many, too fast. If you accept that running is the way to go, you have to race the Marine real fast, cut corners, go as in a straight line as you can. The Aliens will be at your back nonetheless, with all their "voices" screaming at you. I'ts not a very long run, but it's a nightmare. You're a trained Marine carrying grenades and rifles and more, but you're helpless. Fear and despair are the words, not just "scary moment". It's been the only game that could achieve this so far.

Another great moment are the two Max Payne's dreams in the original game. You have no clear clue as to where you should go, you have to jump (and you fall many times in a black abyss), you can't see very far, and you don't really know what will be in the next "room". This is more a lot of tension than really scary, but outstanding nonetheless. IMHO the nemesis of Max Payne is No One Lives Forever 2. It's hilarious, you can't feel bad playing that game.

NFS Hot Pursuit 2. The first time I depressed the left stick by accident and got surprised by that look-ahead camera (the one with the fireball effect), it freaked me out good. Like "didn't play the game for a few months after that" good. In my defense I was 6 years old at the time.

Same thing, except I had the PC version when I was 6 and I freaked out whenever I got arrested because I thought the cops were coming to arrest me in real life. Man, I was dumb back then.

Also, I'm surprised the cops in the PS2 version didn't freak you out. In that game, they literally tried to kill you with missiles and stuff.
