well that sucks for you....*realizes...im going to be out of town for 3 days Friday though Sunday* Welp got to take my laptop with me and download the update (if it even comes) in a McDonalds. Thats commitment to beamng.
I guess the tow truck might depend on further development of ropables... any news on how that's going?
I don't either. But they still glitch out all the time, the engine is always clipping through the frame, and I see spikes all the time, even if I crash at like 40mph!
As others have said, when it's ready. But more on point, unlike Dayz, this game gets actual content updates, fixing bugs, adding maps/vehicles, adding/improving existing game content. It gets worked on. The project was ambitious from day 1, and they had a very small team to start. Now they are at 30 people, and the updates are getting bigger and bigger as of late. Now I like to think that the final version will come out next year, maybe around the 5 year anniversary of launching the project. I'm going to list the reasons why I think so 1. All of the core systems (drivetrain, engine, transmission, tires) have been rewritten/improved since the initial release. I can't think of any other system that needs an overhaul in relation to driving. 2. We already have the start of the story out. The campaign system is fully functional and implemented, and it can't take too long to make the rest of it. It is after all, just a bunch of strung together scenarios, and scenarios are easy to make. The art has probably been done for a long time. 3. Two new maps should release by August 2018. Italy and west coast. That should be more than enough to host a full fledged single player campaign. 4. Sounds have been in development for a long time now. Hopefully they are ready for an August 2018 release. 5. The vehicles list is healthy. While I would like more, there are plenty of cars available now to use that cover a wide range of body styles, performance capabilities and price ranges. By this time next year, we could hope for two more cars at least, adding even more diversity to the list.
Except for a ute and a minivan, I can't think of any vehicle class which doesn't have at least one Beam counterpart. Although...we do have two doo-bag American 1980s sedans ready and waiting to be used as a base for a minivan, and we also have plenty of cars that could be made into utes.
For a game as complex as BeamNG drive, that's an achievement. Some companies will never even get that far in the physics world.
Except DayZ. That game has sat in early access for years without completion. I really don't mind a game being in Early Access for a year or two but I feel like this is a little too long.
I think that it's fine being in early access, because it means more content is constantly being added. There's nothing wrong with early access.
I don't think it deserves "early access" as a name. I think more like taking it out and slapping beta on there sounds better.
I don't usually post here, and I'm going to say something that tons have people have speculated, but I am hoping for a four-door Hopper. --- Post updated --- I'm also just hoping for an awesome update, as per usual. I think the Devs always do a great job when it comes to content and updates. So, I'm looking forward to that.
It's still in a stage most would consider to be alpha, it's FAR from being done, we don't have a working progression system for campaign(or any news on that), we don't have tire wear and thermals, and I feel like the current cars could use some new parts(more diesels for example).
2. True, but I am hoping that the career mode happens to have some stuff like the following list, which I suggested in another thread: 3. True, but I wonder how Italy will be done, considering that only about half of the cars that we currently have (Ibishus, ETKs, Bolide) would be realistic in keeping with the theme of the map. Perhaps the player switches vehicles in the Italy map (and the ETK test center map) to something Euro. 4. Who knows? Maybe sounds are coming earlier than that. After all, we have had a couple previews of the sound system as of late, so I reckon that they could be coming in late-2017.
The update may come tomarrow, they have been posting quite a bit on their Facebook. But who knows. Also it's Friday, and updates are usually on Fridays.
