I'm pretty sure that improved sounds are being worked on right now and there's valvetrain simulation (including damage) coming in the next update. Breaking parts may not come into the game as a whole but my guess is that they will implement stuff bit-by-bit and in the end we will end up with in-depth part simulation. As for cars I'm always happy to have a new dev-quality car in the game that I can mess around with for a couple of days after release, there's only a couple mods out there that I consider to be as good as vanilla cars.
I hope we'll get a lot of streets going up and down (maybe even stairs) in that big city from concept layout. I don't think this is unpopular opinion. I'm waiting for destructible map objects (garbage bins, fences, tables etc.) However game isn't finish "enough" to make better graphic. Also devs mention they doing something with sounds.
Well with how the dev team is laid out think of the cars and maps as "just an added bonus" as the people working on those aren't going to be coding new features as cars and maps is what they are into. All the other game feature stuff would go on like normal with or without them making cars or maps. Also, sounds are probably not too far off from being ready, at least for an early release.
My dreams are crushed, lmao. No that's not me who tweeted at BeamNG. I just come across it while looking at their twitter.
I think that in the long-term, more modern cars will be added to the game, seeing as they're starting to run out of older vehicle archetypes to add. Not saying anything about "the list", but it's likely that in either 2019 or 2020, maybe even later, we will be seeing more modern cars.
I disagree strongly with that statement. There are currently no French, British, Australian, Korean, South American, or Scandinavian vehicles in-game of any kind The only trucks currently in-game are the D-series and T-series. Trucks before 1975 or produced in a country other than America are currently non-existent. There is currently only one station wagon in-game, and it is current vehicle There are currently no buses or heavy equipment in-game. (for what it's worth, I'm hoping that a compact-to-midsize vintage farm tractor will be added to the game at some point.) We have not even begun to approach pre-1950 vehicles Although it is worth noting that the broad archetypes outlined above could be filled with either vintage or modern vehicles, the possibility of older models should not be discounted. Say that tomorrow one of the developers decided to begin work on a minivan. If they lay out all their options on a sheet of paper, it would look something like this: 1980s American 1990s American 2000s American Current American The pattern would repeat for Japan, France, Germany, and every other country that has ever produced a minivan. If we can agree that the minivan as we know it has only been around since the mid-eighties, then there are roughly two to three times as many older archetypes, depending on how modern is defined. I do believe that more current vehicles will appear as we move forward. I just wouldn't expect them to be the sole, or even the main focus. Speaking of vehicle development, This is making me wonder if there is some kind of plot to release two vehicles at once.
Wish they would get more and more people to join them, and provide a lot of features and optimizations... on the cars and maps side, my personal desire would be a really big official map, with more than one city and roads/highway connecting them... for cars, some interesting complex heavy machines, or maybe official boat? off-topicish: will we ever see deforming terrain kinda like spintires?
Yeah, italy isn't happening this update. WCA and the Bluebuck probably will. I hope there are more trailers than the 2 shown in the preview. Sure, their enclosed now, but it still probably wont fit anything bigger than a Covet or possibly a Miramar. When I want to tow a vehicle, I either use a mod or strip the caravan down. Wouldn't the caravan be a good basis for a flatbed trailer? It's big enough for most of the vehicles in the game. Someone several pages back mentioned a Minivan using the Legran platform, this is actually a great idea as the "dustbuster" GM vans were based off of the A body platform. That being said, if the devs were going to make an old minivan I'd prefer something closer to the pre 96 Chrysler vans, the GM vans were pretty lame. Maybe have a long and short wheelbase. I also think that a few of the existing legran trims should be available with AWD, as the Pontiac 6000 had available AWD. The Chrysler vans also had AWD. Also, the D series needs a larger engine for the 3/4 and 1 ton models (and the Tow truck). In the Last 20 years, GM trucks and vans could have a 6.0L, 6.2L, the old 454 (7.4) and the 8.1L. A diesel would be nice too- Even though the largest ford petrol engine for a long time was the 351, a 7.3L diesel was also available at the time.
Having more people working on the game isnt always good as they have to pay those people. Also the deformable terrain could happen as it would add more realism wich they want but it wont happen anytime soon as its not to important. I also see a boat happen more likely than a plane because its a driving game and you drive a boat
but we already have a couple of planes that work incredibly well... thought I miss the helicopter... A nice big boat that can carry vehicles and move about or a small sports one maybe, those are missing... but I heard someone saying it has to do with the fact buoyancy is still in development... so why not something big and really complex like a crane excavator or something? it would help showing what's possible and also serve as the base for modders to do some crazy stuff... about having to pay, well, I'm not aware or their finances, but getting more features and assets into the game wouldn't also make it sell more? anyway, when I wish they get more people into making the game better, guess it means getting more investors/money too
a list of vehicle types that are missing 1. luxury SUV that has proper expedition roots but people don't use it to the fullest (Range Rover) 2. Rugged and basic 4x4 from Great Britain (Landrover series 1-3) 3. high class luxobarge (Rolls Royce) 4. British sports car. 5. Japanese take on the British sports car that was and still is superior (MX5) 6. Japanese Grand tourer. 7. late 50s/60s middle range luxury saloon or station wagon (Humber Super Snipe) 8. Small lightweight Japanese ute/Pickup Truck. 9. European van. 10. Japanese van (Toyota Hiace)
Also: 11. Pre-1950s anything. 12. Ugly modern French car. 13. Modern American car. (All the post 2010s are either Japanese or German) 14. Strange-looking Japanese hybrid (Like the Prius)
Can we please get back to speculation, rather than requesting cars? Ot: I'm wondering if the roads leaving WCA are still in the final version of the map, and what the devs plan to do with them.
I think if the developers did add a minivan it would likely be from the 80s or 90s. Minivans were in their 'prime' or 'heyday' from around when they were introduced in the mid 80s to around the mid 90s before suvs became the next trend, so I think it would make sense for an official minivan to be from that time period. It would also fit in considering most official vehicles at the moment are from that era as well. I do recall reading somewhere (I don't remember if it was a dev or not) along time ago that there would be a "Plasticy 80s Minivan", and I think it was said in something to do with the Soliad Palisade from the unconfirmed vehicles list. I am unsure if they were planning to do that and have changed their minds, or if it is still planned, or if ti was just someone's own speculation from along time ago.
