After looking around for a bit, I stumbled upon the Saturn Ion, a cheap USDM car from GM. First of all, this thing seems like it's trying to be some Japanese car at certain angles. The sedan model looks like it's trying to be a Nissan Altima towards the rear and the "2-door coupe" version is trying to be a Mazda RX-8 (because of the suicide door setup). It even had one option to get a "aero kit" like the Celica GT which looked ricey. It looks...okay on the outside, but that interior... ...help. I'm getting vibes of Scion's compacts, the Celica, Ford's Ka and the round-as-hell Taurus... I didn't know where to post this, would've probably be better off in Ugliest Cars thread.
Believe me, those were awful. You could get them with a stick, but when I drove one last summer (while working at a dealership) it was the worst gearbox I've ever had to use. I couldn't tell if the awful thing was in gear. The engine wasn't great either. It's almost like Saturn hired a teenager to modify an Ion, and then built it. That's the only explanation I can come up with for the awful "sporty" exterior and lack of any actual performance.

Managed to get the Snipeinator (Humber Super Snipe series IV) back to our house. Was a nightmare to get on the trailer because rear brakes jammed causing the rear left to fall as the ramp slipped
Considering an Infiniti G35 as my first car. Heard it's pretty reliable, has good aftermarket, and I can do this to it:
I don't really like it either. It always fails emission tests so I have to go to the courthouse to get a waiver. The check engine light is always stuck on cause there was a gash in the cat converter. It's not on anymore but it's an absolute pain in the ass to get the check engine light to go away.
