Update Speculation thread

OT: I have a strange feeling like there is a vehicle being secretly worked on, maybe not the Bluebuck, but something. They might be creating a ton of configurations for cars we already have.

Oh, that would we cool. It would be like when they released the ETK K-Series.

 

I speculate that the update will drop by the end of the month.

Hmmm.....after three months or so of work (I assume) on the Bluebuck, we still have had no mention of it being in-game, even though we have been told that the update will be very soon. That's not exactly worrisome, but it does bring up a few "What-if" situations.

-(Unlikely) What if the Bluebuck is being put back because of other vehicle-related things, like the Hopper Safari config and Safari lights, as well as some new configurations for WCA (like Belasco police vehicles and some classic race cars)?
-(Highly likely) What if it's going to be revealed to be in-game shortly before the update, like we have seen from the LeGran (that was revealed on December 14, 2016, released on December 21, 2016) and several other vehicles?
-(Highly unlikely, but still possible) What if there is a new vehicle that we have never heard of yet coming out in 0.10? After all, it's happened before at about this time (K-Series, released on June 4, 2016 with only 1 preview pic), so it could happen again.

Non-vehicle speculation: Considering that we will be getting a new quickrace structure, what else will we be getting in terms of quickrace features? After all, WCA will have the biggest motorsport facility in stock Beam, I wonder if we will be getting online leaderboards, as that would make the quickraces have more meaning towards the average Beam player. However, I don't think it will happen in 0.10, but in a later update, it is possible to happen as a sort of multiplayer substitute that won't break half of the computers in the world and 3/5 of the ISPs' servers (exaggerated), but will still allow people to compete with each other for supremacy.

 

Doubt that proper multiplayer is even possible with current technology.

 

I'm probably going to be disappointed if the Bluebuck is not in the next update.

This gets my hope up for an MZ2 port but then I realized that the cars from RoR aren't coming to Beam any time soon...

 

and won't be. Gabester doesn't want any car from that game ported here (with one exception).

Now back on BeamNG, Gabester hasn't posted anything in months and no other dev has made a recent post about an upcoming car. I doubt the Bluebuck will be finished by the time the update comes out, but some other car being added is a possibility. The devs are known to work on completely unusual cars that only have one or two pictures of it shown and no info about them until release (the ETK 800 and K-Series were examples, so was the Hopper until Gabester announced it officially in November).

Though it would be cool if some of the vehicles from RoR were given new life as whole new vehicles.

Like I've stated in the past, my opinion is that the Barstow is somewhat a BeamNG reincarnation of the Bandit, as they share a lot in common, yet they have their differences to set them apart.

The update isn't here yet, so there is always that chance that something will pop up. I know ingame screenshots of the LeGran and the Hopper were unexpected for me.

 

Maybe the devs didn't mention the Bluebuck (or, in case they work on a secret vehicle, said secret vehicle) in order to avoid a hypetrain similar to the one caused by 0.9 and the Hopper ?
I could be wrong though.

 

That would be a better method, since the hype for 0.9 was an absolute mess. I bet Nadeox1 didn't enjoy cleaning that up.

 

A secret vehicle doesn't sound that unlikey to me. It would be a pleasant surprise.

It is likely. After all, we will be having our first suburbs with WCA's release, and I think that a minivan would be highly suitable towards that sort of a thing. However, it all depends on whether or not the devs want to release their already-promised content first, or satiate the never-ending requests for a minivan first. I still think that the Bluebuck could be a more-likely candidate for 0.10, though, as it's already been promised.

Then again, if it is a minivan, then that would be a possible explanation for the lack of any vehicle-related news as of late. Can you imagine how much the forums would explode if a minivan preview was released? That would be like 0.9 all over again, except 500 quadrillion times worse.

 

With how much a minivan has been requested, it's going to be a shocker if it never happens.

I'm convinced that sooner or later one will come.

I think it would be best if they released a minivan without revealing it prior to the release of the update it would come with.
