Dummiesman submitted a new resource: Avro Arrow - A legendary Canadian aircraft Read more about this resource...
It became more amazing when it didn't flew in real life Another nice job! Hopefully you will have some time to fix the old ones
Aweasome! Im sure that @Captain. Adam will love it One question tho, in my game they top speed at 325 kph, i read online, and mach 1 is 1225kph, so something is wrong with my game or is it normal? I read it in here: http://www.metric-conversions.org/speed/mach-to-kilometers-per-hour.htm --- Post updated --- Update: I found the error: Thenormal speedometer fails, it is needed to use air speed app Im sorry to posting that i didnt noticed, but here is the solution to people that have the same problem
Also BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN THAT THIS AIRCRAFT IS HARD TO MANEUVER: -This is an interceptor, not a fighter. It's meant to get up in the air, and get to it's target at high speed. - Also, a quote from the test pilot of the IRL plane : " Turning at Mach 2.0 takes a radius of about ten miles with 5G, if I remember right, so doing a 360deg turn at this speed takes quite a long time" BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN THAT LANDING IS TOO HARD: -Another quote from the test pilot "The Arrow had quite a high landing speed. As far as I remember, it was of the order of 170 knots across the threshold, 160 at touchdown"
Dummiesman updated Avro Arrow with a new update entry: Added a missing mesh around the ADF Read the rest of this update entry...
Its constantly rolling to the left, making it really annoying to handle. Landing gear also likes to fail really easily. Other than that, nicely done!
Before I clicked, I thought this would be a joke mod where it's really close to completion and gets cancelled all together prior to release. Anyhow, great work on it so far.
landing gear "failing easy" is a pilot problem . It should honestly collapse much easier . The rolling left is something I need to look into though
Sounds like a problem on your end. What browser are you using? And, when you click 'Install', make sure you are on the Overview tab, or it will not work
Working on an update that will probably signify the FINAL update for this aircraft. It was supposed to be 100% complete when I released it on the repo, but a lot of it was rushed in last minute , and things were forgotten
okay its working now Thanks Nadeox1 --- Post updated --- One more question why are the wings so weak?
@Dummiesman can you please make this plane here are the specs Crew: 2: pilot (left seat) and mission commander (right seat) Length: 69 ft (21.0 m) Wingspan: 172 ft (52.4 m) Height: 17 ft (5.18 m) Wing area: 5,140 ft² (478 m²) Empty weight: 158,000 lb (71,700 kg) Loaded weight: 336,500 lb (152,200 kg) Max. takeoff weight: 376,000 lb (170,600 kg) Fuel Capacity: 167,000 pounds (75,750 kg) Powerplant: 4 × General Electric F118-GE-100 non-afterburning turbofans, 17,300 lbf (77 kN) each Performance Maximum speed: Mach 0.95 (550 knots, 630 mph, 1,010 km/h) at 40,000 ft altitude / Mach 0.95 at sea level[147] Cruise speed: Mach 0.85[64] (487 knots, 560 mph, 900 km/h) at 40,000 ft altitude Range: 6,000 nmi (11,100 km (6,900 mi)) Service ceiling: 50,000 ft (15,200 m) Wing loading: 67.3 lb/ft² (329 kg/m²) Thrust/weight: 0.205 Armament 2 internal bays for ordnance and payload with an official limit of 40,000 lb (18,000 kg); maximum estimated limit is 50,000 lb (23,000 kg).[64] 80× 500 lb class bombs (Mk-82, GBU-38) mounted on Bomb Rack Assembly (BRA) 36× 750 lb CBU class bombs on BRA 16× 2,000 lb class bombs (Mk-84, GBU-31) mounted on Rotary Launcher Assembly (RLA) 16× B61 or B83 nuclear bombs on RLA (strategic mission) Standoff weapon: AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) and AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM)
They aren't. You just have to learn the limits. They are very reasonable. I've watched youtubers drop this thing so hard that the rear of the plane strikes the ground, and the wings withstand that.
