I've been searching the forums, wiki, etc for a while and I tried to go through the level editor myself but I decided while I continue to do that, it won't hurt to ask.

I know how to add a car to the map. I found that immediately on the wiki. However, I am wondering if it is possible to permanently add a vehicle to the map. I have been trying and the same thing keeps happening:

I make a copy of the map I want the car to be in (so I don't ruin the actual map). I rename it so I know which is which in the map selection screen. I enter the new version and go into the level editor, spawn in a new vehicle, etc like the wiki says. I am pretty sure the problem is that the vehicle is defined as "default vehicle" which I assume is why I am having the problem: when I exit the map, save when prompted, and re-enter, I am focused on the pickup truck and original spawn point. Granted I forget to put the camera back in first person mode before I saved the level, so I do that really quick and it turns out that the car I added to the map; the car I just want to be an object for crashing, is now my "default vehicle" and even "ctrl+e" ends up switching that car, not the pickup at spawn (which still spawns).

Since the pickup still spawns, I am planning on trying to copy a new map and switch the pickup to the car I prefer to crash in to and then spawn the new vehicle and switch to whatever I feel like driving as normal. If that works, I'll just use that ignore the whole deal with not actually spawning at the player spawn point.

Since I'd prefer not to have that pseudo-fix, I'd be appreciative if anyone knows a way to spawn a car on the map while the player spawn point still serves its original function (where I load in as the pickup and can change vehicles from there) and everything else remains normal. Even better, it'd be amazing if anyone knows how to create a vehicle that is a permanent object in the map but respawns in the same place every time whenever I choose to respawn my own vehicle. (Making it so I don't have to exit and reload the map after each crash). This would basically help to save time since if I add more than a couple vehicles to a map, and go crash happy, things slow down a lot. (Which is expected).

    Thanks in advance!

I know you can add cars, but they won't be drive-able. Basically what you do is spawn the car that you are going to want to keep in the map. Once that is done, press F11 and go to the Scene Tree and click on "meshes". Then click on "vehicles". Then find the car you have spawned and open the folder and double click the mesh. The car will spawn with all variables. So it will have all the different wheels, bumpers, and or steering wheels kind of all as one. Here is a picture as an example:

All you have to do after this is place it where you want and then save the map. I hope I could help. If not, well I tried!

That's... not correct. You can save an actual BeamNGVehicle entity into the map, and it will be drivable. I'm not familiar with the bug OP is describing, but spawning a static mesh of a vehicle is completely useless.
