    adapters. Adapters. Adapters and adapters.

Or if you have a PS/2 port already, it'll just work.

Are the ps2 adapters any good?
USB is fine and all but it does feel like my 1000hz USB keyboard at home has more latency than my old ps2 one. To the point where sometimes you type and nothing happens, catches up a second later and then starts updating at close to real time. Equally if you unplug it from the computer you need to reboot the computer in order to tart using it again, the computer won't detect it being plugged back in. PS2 "just worked" even if it probably can't power the rgb LED's (which is kinda a problem)

That shouldn't be happening in usb, latency should be approx 5ms for debounce and after that you're already into the next usb transaction window. That won't change ps/2 to usb, if anything the transaction rate is higher on usb.

It taking a second to start typing, that's very wrong

Sure that thing is ps/2 rather than XT?

What, the keyboard? There's a "Build in" factory adaptor. I'm pretty sure it's a PS2 connector but I might be wrong ^^

The 6 pin one is a PS/2 connector. The 5 pin one is a 5 pin din connector.

My modern mechanical keyboard has PS/2 and USB in combo, USB is only there for backlight. PS/2 should just work right out of the box on any windows version.

Could be a case that the keyboard draws a larger amount of power from the port. I know Model M's can do this and some motherboards wont be able to output enough through the PS/2 port, so its usually easier to just get a "blue cube" adapter for PS/2 to USB which will also give enough power, normal PS/2 to USB passive adapters haven't worked, at least for my Model M.

I will try few other things but if it still doesn't I will buy an adapter. I didn't know they still make Ps/2 keyboard!

I really like this keyboard. I don't want anything else now x)

There are a few old plugins around the forum that work to some degree, they should export basic beam shapes just fine. They probably won't load any finished Jbeams as afaik they dont support alot of other beam types so will probably just break it entirely.

For starting from scratch and creating a jbeam shape to work from its a pretty useful tool though.
