someone needs to make it that while a car is on a trailer it doesn't move except for suspension bouncing because when i have a car on any trailer the car will either roll off the back roll off the from or roll/slide off the sides of the trailer and its no fun even the parking brake doesn't help they still roll and slide, they need to make it like its strapped to the trailer, cause come on who tows a car on a trailer without strapping it down, and make it that trailers don't slide as easy

Also someone should make a tow truck that actually winches the car and also has the wheel locks so that the car doesn't slide around while towing it.

They seem to be pretty stable in my experience also this shows them being quite stable as well.

Nah, try it in game, they really arent very stable. Nobody throws a car on a flatbed without strapping it down damn fucking securely.

They're about as stable as a car held solely by its handbrake on a wooden flatbed truck. There currently aren't any form of ties or any inter-vehicles interaction.

Not sure how different mowers are from cars, but when I worked for my town's parks department the big mowers we'd put on the trailers would stay put with just the hand brake for short jogs and just one chain on the front of the trailer for longer trips. I don't know if the lack of suspension makes them more or less stable but they very rarely would move about. Unless you had the one with the broken brake and didn't chain it to the front.

The suspension is pretty much the problem. It bounces, once the car starts bouncing, the wheels start hopping on the bed. It is not staying on there for long.

Also, don't forget about elevations and slopes. Since the car on the bed couldn't be equipped with handbrake while idle, the car starts sliding while on slopes.

If the brake is held while switching from 1 vehicle to another, it will continue to be in effect, so yes it can be equipped with the handbrake while idle. Just hold space, then hit tab.
Then in the older updates the parking brake was a toggle anyway on the P button, dont know if thats been removed as I dont have current update.

What do you expect when it isnt strapped down. Go stick your car on a real flatbed in real life. It will do the same.

As for this thread being a suggestion. No modder can do this. This is already listed in the development todo list.

Vosa shut and were replaced by the dvsa. They deal with the paperwork regarding the vehicle only and have no jurisdiction to say that it's dangerous to drive an unstrapped load.

At least in my little town if you have a town vehicle you are kinda exempt from a lot of laws. Just gotta make sure to wave at any other town vehicles and to the police. Yes town vehicles do get stopped but usually only when it's the summer help (aka high school and college kids) and even then they just get a talking to and no ticket.

They do. They are who put trucks onto weigh bridges and pull dodgy transits

you can go look it up. Vosa were shut in April 2014.

Vosa do all the paperwork and licencing for drivers and vehicles including writing the towing and load carrying guidelines along with driving tests for all classes of vehicles and mots etc etc.
But. Vosa and their dvsa replacement do not have road patrols at all.

Dodgy transits are pulled by the traffic police. Not by the non existent vosa.
Weigh bridges are operated independently at the relavent goods facility in accordance with guidelines set out by the trading standards agency (vosa were never involved), enforced on the road by the police, the exact same way the police will pull you for a dodgy taillight rather than the dvsa.

The dvsa (vosa replacement) are an administration facility only. You wi never see them on the roads.

    Interesting. Thank you.

You did of course see vosa on the road though when they existed. They had traffic cars with ANPR cameras on and there were vosa operated weighing facilities like the big
    one on the Dartford Crossing.

Not to say you are not right, However in a game that has been in a long term development even before named "BEAMNG" it was called "Rigs Of Rods" In Rigs Of Rods "A free game" they had straps for any car on any trailer. it was simply an auto function when pressing "L" it would auto put straps from the bumpers to the strap locking point. This can be found on youtube. Just search for it... It wouldnt take long for them to do the same thing with Beamng. Just saying "Just a small example of what RoR was about" Now I am not saying its a better game... Lol... its dx9 is killer on the eyes however notice how they just put a strapping node on the trailer? Also the bumber of that truck was able to lock down on it.. .also you could tighten or loosen the straps when its strapped down ... Any ways guys hope this helped... maybe the right person could see this and push it on to one of the DEVS. Okayy so I put in my 2 cents.

Gonna avoid the shitposting here and go straight to the point. 6677 is right. IRL you dont wanna load a car into a truck or trailer without making sure that only god can move it around.

The game does a realistic job at having the car on top of the flatbed if the car was not secured, but that just wouldn't be realistic.

If the game wants to have NO way to secure the car while on some missions to add challenge that's fine. But many people just wanna toy around with a car loaded onto a flatbed or something similar and would feel like if a way to secure the car onto place would be fantastic.
