WIP Beta released Proving Grounds 4x4 park V2.0

    This is my latest map that I have been working on, originally I made it for RoR and it was called Pines Proving Grounds, but since there are no pine trees I am just calling it Proving Grounds:p

    So far it is about 1/4 finished but has some difficult tracks including:
    - 2 rock crawling obstacles
    - 2 disused tracks with more planned (have fun finding them:p)
    - 2 rutted muddy hills, (can't get the depth map to work yet:confused:)
    - lots of dirt/mud tracks with rocks and logs to get over

    At the moment I have only finished one track that leads to the top of the mountain.

    Tracks were made using a lightly modified version of dkutch's Jeep Cherokee http://www.beamng.com/threads/4799-1994-Jeep-Grand-Cherokee-Trail-Ready-V-1-1?highlight=jeep

    DO NOT UPLOAD/RELEASE ANY WHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION

    Update V2.0 just download the Proving_grounds_2.0.zip attachment and extract to "BeamNG.drive\levels\proving_grounds"(requires proving_ground.zip to be installed first)

    Awesome map Straubz, cannot wait to try it! I'm really looking forward to further content from you.

    Even though you said not too, people still do. I said not to upload any ones of my map(s)... just take a look.

    Really fun map though xD



    On a real note, this map is pretty fps intensive.

    After I get the errors it loads the map though?

    This is amazing so far! The one issue I have is with the water, much too deep in places so it kills the motor. Very good job though so far.

    Another awesome trail map, the Moonbuggy was made for this! The trails feel very realistic, which I know takes a lot of time to do, so thanks Straubz.

    Can you please make an FPS version of this amazing map? When I press J I get like 45 FPS, but when I press it again to activate the physics I get less than 0 FPS. My FPS counter says '00' and after a few seconds I get a new frame. What's the problem here? I can run the dev made maps fine except for the derby map.

    Maybe there is a way to make an FPS version myself, for example removing the vegetation? Is there any way I could do that?

    Holy trail batman! I can't believe this is the same map I rode in RoR for hours. You've made it look unrecognizable, in an amazing way. I'm loving the "overgrown" look, very realistic to some irl trails I've been through. Have you thought about leaving some parts around the terrain? Some places I've been to have the remains of cars at the bottom of a hill, warped bumpers in trees/rocks, etc.

    Yeah the water was a last second addition, but its not really that deep once the car levels out, its just the intake dips under the water for 1/2 a second when dropping in and stalls the car, i think there really should be a short timer on stalling like ~2-3 seconds but i might fix it for untill something like that is done:)

    To make it more fps friendly;
    1. go into the editor and select the forest editor.
    2. select the Bushes_large and Bushes_small brushes
    3. select the erase selected tool(leaf with a - symbol) and put the pressure at 100%
    4. start clicking on the map

    if you still want more fps repeat the same steps but with the "Trees_oak" brush and only about 10%:)(keep in mind this could break some trails)

    I would love to do this but i don't know how to make them yet:(

    honestly what's the min spec for this map?
    I got my admittedly low end cpu overclocked to 4.5ghz and on this map I only get a whopping 0.5 fps.

    Yikes.. Is that on low settings? I get between 45-55fps on this map, I7-3770k GTX-680.

    I don't see how this map in particular would cause that low of FPS. My pc is sort of a boat anchor, but it's absolutely playable. :|

    I can play this on medium to high settings with my AMD Phenom II X6 1090T BE @3.1ghz and a 470GTX 1GB, the map is only 400mx400m so it really shouldn't be that bad.
