So there's lots of older mods that I've found that looked cool, but say 'Fatal Vehicle Exception' when I spawn it up. All of the textures and jbeam work perfect, so I'm assuming it is the engine or drivetrain that makes it do that. It would be something in the files I'm guessing but I'm not sure what to change. I would only use it on my own game, and wont post the updated mod on the forum without permission.
You clearly have no idea. If a mod says fatal vehicle exception, there is a problem with a part of the vehicle. Your first thing to do is load up the vehicle and then press this -> ~ and it will bring up the log. Then find the problem, this may be quite hard for you without any knowledge of what to look for though and there will most likely be more than 1 problem if its an older mod..
Obviously I already downloaded the mod. When I spawn it it shows that message --- Post updated --- OK. Thanks! I'll have to look through it and try to find the issue.
So here is what happens when I press ~. Could anyone give me some tips on what all this means? I never made a mod so I'm not sure what everything means.
im not going to explain it. In the time that i do i complete tutorial on how to update an old mod i could update one my self. It took a few hours to update the helljeep and the 1994 jeep grand Cherokee. Helljeep/helhopper remake below. But in short you just delete all the old files and replace them with the new ones then add in info.json files and thumbnails and repack it. Its harder than it sounds. https://www.beamng.com/resources/hellhopper.1819/
Okay. The only question I really have is how do you get/make the new files to put in place of the old files? Thanks
If you felt like it, you could just use this as an excuse to update an old mod and make a video on how to do it. Although that's probably twice as much work as just updating the mod itself
