Update Speculation thread

I know as a fact that they find the update hype train absolutely hilarious.

 

Then lets make one and make them laugh!

No, lets not. Do we need a hype train that spans 500+ pages?

 

Tdev would not be pleased.

 

Tdev would be going :| for the next 5 months if that happened.

Now to actual speculating...

 

They most certainly are. And you know what, I think that the hype train has gotten to the point where if it the update wasn't coming soon, somebody would come and tell that it's not ready yet. I am certain that they wanted the update to be a surprise so all the hype drama would be avoided. I even think that's why a dev came here to clear things out about the Steam news thing and try to slow down the hype train.

Well devs, there ain't nothing stopping the hype train now.

 

I still don't think the minivan will be coming in this update.

 

Yea... no minivans... Now how about the Bluebuck... how likely do you think it's coming?

Really hope there's either a minivan or new sounds in this update

 

I know as a fact that the sound engineer is working very hard, but his progress is unknown.

 

Who's to say there will be an update soon? If I was a member of a development team for a game, and I've teased a lot of content, and version .10 would be the next version, why not wait until all of the content is finished, and then release it in one big milestone update or something? I feel that would make more sense, also this whole minivan/excavator thing has really gotten out of hand. I think the community has unrealistic expectations for the developers.

Like I said in Page 342, this update will most likely be focusing upon new features, such as sounds, than upon content, like a new car or map. However, I won't rule out the possibility that a new car will be coming. After all, cars take 3-4 months to make, and it's been nearly 4 months since 0.9. A new car could have been made in that time.

However...I will say something that likely will disappoint some people. In the past few updates, we've had images of the vehicle that would come in the next update in-game about a week before the update hits. There hasn't been any images of a new car in-game since the Hopper came in 0.9, Bluebuck or otherwise. What does that mean for the next update in terms of cars? Well...
-It could be a mystery vehicle.
-It could be the Bluebuck.
-The devs could be trolling us right now.
-The vehicle is being kept under wraps very well to prevent the spam-storm that's already happened.

But I don't think that a new car will be coming to Beam in 0.10. I could be wrong, and I would be happy to be wrong...but there's no evidence as of yet that a new car is even close to coming out.

 

fixed And no, I don't want to wait a whole year, I just think that we as a community are too demanding of the development team. Let them do there job, and they'll deliver.
