I need to quickly learn how to operate a database server, which is no problem... but the organization I'm going to be working with uses Windows for its servers. The problem with that is that I usually use Unix, and I don't have any Windows installation media at the moment. This means I'm stuck with ReactOS, a free clone currently in development. As you can see here, it sucks bigly. But at least it runs DOOM! I guess the moral is that "free software" does not always equal "good software."
Just use a linux distro like Ubuntu Server and check tutorials on how to use it as a file server for Windows if you need it for Windows. Otherwise, you can generally find free version of software for Linux usually. If you have to use Windows-based stuff, then use WINE.
Isn't ReactOS designed around Win95 or XP era windows? If so you will really struggle to get it running modern stuff.
Yeah... Today I've made another bike ride with my Friend. We were onto a fast forest downhill dirt road and I drove over a pothole at probably like 40-50km/h, the rear of my bike started hopping around until the rear catched the front. I scraped onto the ground under my bike for probably 5-10 meters, on the grass happily, until I come to a stop. Result : I have pretty nothing other than a scratched knee, arm and dirty clothes but my bike... it's another story. The 2 wheels are bent as well as the handlebar. (You can't see much on the pictures lol) The front wheel might maybe not be bent, it might just be the axle who moved, but I'm pretty sure the rear wheel is.
Yep, I had a Bad Time™ trying to get it to run .NET 4.0 and MySQL. It's more on the level of Windows 2003 though, so it's both unstable and laughably insecure.
The handlebars are super easy to fix. Just put the front wheel between your legs and then bend the bars back. You can also use an Allen key in the top of the stem to tighten or untighten them to make it easier. If the wheel itself is bent, you can probably bend it back fairly effectively. Bike wheels are not designed to withstand side to side force (since you lean into corners putting the force vertically down the wheel) and as such can bend like that. If it is just the axel you should be able to unbolt the rear wheel (or use the quick releases if fitted) straighten it up and tighten it again.
Reminds me of when I was 12 or 13 when my and my brother would ride our bikes down our steep, ~250m driveway. No pads, no sleeves, no helmets, but luckily neither of us ever crashed. I got a speedometer for my birthday that clocked me at 53km/h, but it fell off and broke after the second run. I probably hit 60 a few times. Sometimes I wonder how we're not dead.
Here's an interesting story for y'all. Earlier today after I emptied out my wallets coin pocket to count my change, I was counting my pennies when I discovered that one of them wasn't a penny at all, it was a Korean ten won. Now I wonder how I ended up with it.
quite cold imo for me, but i had the aircon on overnight, so i switch to heatmode and i have to open the windows because it chucks out all the humidity that came out of me overnight, so windows steam up, hygrometer reads "96%" the TV directly opposing the A/C steams up too and water starts running down it (dont worry, it was unplugged), my chair is all sticky with the humidity and i am on my computer, which was cold so a bit wet, so really i shouldnt be on it but oh well . after 5mins the temperature is coming up, its really warm now, i have the thermostat up really high atm (25c) and fan speed on full, being an inverter it is running the compressor on low speed so not wasting too much electricity, now the humidity is at 86%, its so bloody humid and there is no wind outside, and its quite humid outside too!
Update : The rear wheel is like completly dead. (Don't mind the Flip-flops of swag) It's flat from on one side, and domed on the other. I bought a new one for 25€, I should get it soon. It seems like only the axle had move on the front wheels though The handlebar wasn't even bent, just unscrewed x) Yeah... We can do stupid stuff as kids. (And you can also when you're 16!)
