The project is on hold for a week or so, since its almost ready for Jbeam(for basic version), i need to learn Jbeaming, and the current project is too complicated! Solution? Think of the simpliest thing whit motor and wheels that everyone(unless you live in apartment) has access to! Codenamed: Law Mow! Can you guess what it is? The machine is like from 96-97, based on some engine info markings i saw on the unit some time ago.
Zip of what? unfinished 3D model file? sorry, cant, or those dirty commie russians would steal my model(despite we both using same model as base for our projects!)! Also this is a pic gallery of the project Law Mow latest save file, numbered 583! http://imgur.com/a/0b7lg --- Post updated --- I have lost some time on both of the projects(lawn mower and zaz) due to a liver problem(normal is 40 something units, but my liver is 90/120) so aside diet i also have to walk alot/bike atleast 10 km per day(which i havent really done yet due to poor rainy weather)
Honestly, I am looking forward to this more than any other WIP mod on this site. Very, very good work so far! I have something of an obsession with Soviet cars; the only reason I ever go to those Russian mod sites is hoping to find a Lada with a half-decent jbeam and textures that aren't broken!
Is there any photos of the car ingame yet? I always say it's best to show photos of a car ingame before you put a thread up of it because at least then we know that it's not just a 3D model you have worked on and will never be put into the game.
I could start transfering the car into beamng but its my first mod and i have no previous knowledge/skill at jbeaming so it would look horrible(more so than the russian version of this mod).... Thats why i am doing the law mower project/jbeaming first to get atleast some experience whit Jbeaming so Bakasan could help jbeam the zaz. EDIT: Also i forgot to say that since its my school final/graduation project i have to complete it(in order to pass the school final project comission)
Oh right, didn't realize that. Obviously you won't have a release date or any of that rubbish but do you think you'll have this done by Christmas time/start of 2018?
The first comission(that i try to make to, but i doubt i will) is somewhere in middle of autumn and the second and last comission is sometimes in the winter. I am going soon to be past 2 years after the normal school cycle, the last comission i saw(where other people defended their projects) was somewhere in the winter but its been so long that i dont remember if its before or after the christmas...
Some little updates! I talked whit my school administrators(its been 2 years since i last sit in the school bench there, a year after that was ment for internship and free time for the graduation project). Good news is that i havent been kicked out so the project is still going(!) and the commision is at the end of January(? dont remember exactly, its in my email)! So this is little gallery about the process i have done(aside learning a bit about how materials work in beamng. http://imgur.com/a/SXc9Y The lawnmower project is postponed for now(but i will work on it after i complete the basic version of zaz). Right now i am working on face count, creating more faces(trough the use of separating bigger faces into multiple little ones) and trying my best to make the mesh ready to deform better than my competition does! I have checked out my competition zaz mod, and i think whit some help i can beat it! I will even beat it only if i would change the trunk jbeams(my competition uses unmodifed hatchback(ibishu covet) jbeam, causing the car to have clipping whit terrain(when reversing into the wall slowly) and the trunk hover(due to being jbeamed after a hatchback...) I have done some things to the project i cant remember right now.....
New update: Its very likely this is not a one person project any more! It could be a two person project! I dont wanna spill the beans who my new partner of this mod is, but one thing for sure: He is a Russian, fellow modeler and his work has good quality from what i have seen! He also has more modding experience(non beamng)* than i have!
Little update. I lost contact whit my new co creator(its normal whit him...), in mean time i had problems whit mirroring a new pair of taillights(since the models inside the .blend file is off the center, so mirroring is not a easy task.... I managed to find a way to find a way to fix it whitout centering all car parts to one location in the blend file(instead i now have to center all parts individually i work on whit mirroring tool and then reassemble them back as close to their original positon as possible..... The original tail lights had problem whit texture not showing in certain parts, the tailights model being wrong(having random curves on the flat(side whit sight to opposite car tail light).... I am also working on new tail lights textures(made from real pictures from the car taillights i get from my sources)
About handling. From 0-60 car has 100% control on front wheels. after that its starting to lose it like... 15% on 80 kmph, 30 on 90 and 35-45 on 120. About wheight- car has more weight at back. I had one, disasembled due to accident. Do something like 35-65 distribution of weight, dat should be enough
