no idea wether this is from this update or its been in the game for a while, but i noticed if you have a cars lights on and then reset it the lights stay on but the dash lights turn of until you turn the lights of and on again.
Yeah same. I got excited when I saw that BeamNG has uploaded a video but now I am a little disappointed. I guess the higher your expectations are the more disappointed you will be.
Gear problem just solved itself somehow, but right now the game uses Intel GPU even though AMD card is up to date: Also I'm kind of surprised that Covet and '90's Pessima has same engine noise, but it's a newborn thing, I don't mind.
New sound system is definitely worth the wait. I'd love some more variation, e.g. the old I6 and new I6 are the same sound, but I understand that this is just the start. It's still a huge step in the right direction though - the system is already great so new samples should be easy to add (or make ourselves). Honestly I'd be inclined to say this is almost AAA-game level of sound, especially with some actual big titles such as Driveclub and Gran Turismo having awful sounds themselves. Two questions: 1. The muffled interior effect is perfect, is this entirely just a modifier on the engine sound or is it a separate recording? 2. Who recorded the samples/where are they from?
The simple vehicle damage app and detailed vehicel damage app don't reset certain damaged parts after you reload the car(with "R" only) It does reset radiator damage and engine damage though. To get the whole thing to reset to green you have to reload with CTRL+R.
@Nadeox1 I just a CLEAN REINSTALL of the game. I followed ALL the instructions on how to do a clean reinstall. Now my game starts in the background of task manager. I let my computer sit for a while and nothing happened and the only way to close it is to "End Task". I have restarted my computer multiple times and have not even installed mods. This problem existed before but only happened like once a month and was fixed by a computer restart. Now a computer restart wont even fix it. The launcher also never shows up (the thing that says launch game, clear cache, verify integrity etc). How do i fix this? EDIT: Problem is NOT anti-virus i disabled it and same problem occurs.
The same thing happens to me even in 0.9. I either attempt to alt tab into the game or click the BeamNG icon on my taskbar until it focuses for me. Never had to force close BeamNG
The sounds are amazing. Although I absolutely hate the gearbox dynamic lol. It's just too bloody slow. I can shift ANY car faster than that irl
same thing happens --- Post updated --- no nothing comes up to alt tab into. It just starts in the background and nothing happens.
I'm sorry to hear that man, but maybe if you realize how much hard work behind the scenes went into creating this update, you might appreciate it a little more. Updating the sound engine and recording, testing, etc new sounds for the game is no small task. Additionally, the new maps are at least a month or two out, and I wouldn't want to wait that long when the game is in a great spot to update, since modders can also take advantage of the new soundsystem.
The sounds are definitely worth the wait for me. I've been waiting for sounds to be implemented officially for some time and very glad of the current ones we have now. Offtopic: Up to Grand turismo 6 the sounds were like vacuum cleaners but Gt sport seems promising i think. The engine sounds have improved over some few builds however the last time i checked (a while ago) the cars seem to make a lot of backfire noise instead. At least they sound a lot less like vacuum cleaners now. Also does driveclub have bad sounds? I have an memory that driveclub had very realistic sounds for the bmw m3, so much that Bmw was impressed by it?
Also, this is a great update! Love the new sounds. The only problem I have is the new thumbnails. I personally prefer them with a dark background.
They claimed that a lot of times, what I feel is that their comment is in reference to BMW being impressed by their recordings, but in-game everything just sounds like it has insane wind noise/droning to me. Good samples can be ruined by a bad sound engine. That's why I'm impressed by Beam with this update, they've clearly put down a great engine foundation ready for more samples.
