My engine audio is lower than it was on 0.9... The crash sound is normal, as it was in 0.9, but the engine one is lower. Idk what to do: I cleared my cache, no mods active and I verified integrity 2 times (first time Steam downloaded 161 files, 2nd time no files were downloaded). I don't want to reinstall for this issue :cries: D:
I use 5.1 surround sound, with a subwoofer. BeamNG's bass level is at times, almost equivalent to this...
So after looking at the T75 for a bit my feeling is the sound itself is much better but it needs a hell of alot more high end. Underneath there I can hear a good and reasonable sounding truck engine but it needs some serious "tuning".
I've gone through a large number of the cars by now, the ones that stood out as being uncomfortably bassy even on desktop speakers were the 200BX, some of the ETK 800 Series trims, and the base K-Series (all same engine note I believe). They become even more ear rattling with tunnel reverb and cockpit view. Toning down the trouble spot with a simple EQ on the engine sample should be a reasonably simple solution for a hotfix. I made a quick video showing the bassy engine noises in a parametric EQ plugin as well as what it sounds like with the bass toned down, but you'd want to target a more narrow frequency band when dealing with the source engine sample.
@tdev is it against your licensing to use the audio samples in a mod? like i coded a different engine and used the V8 samples in the game, is that allowed? and also i think you should maybe post a wiki or sticky based on a simplified version of the licensing terms&agreement
You can use them for the mods for sure, just reference to them, no need to extract or copy or anything.
yeah, but I like the old singular sounds that they shared. I know this will be improved over time but a Hopper does not have the same engine as a 6 cylinder supercharged sports car! I hope this gets fixed soon. I do like then new node grabbing features though! Those are awesome.
Diesel vehicles, such as the Pigeon sound like 4 cylinder petrol engines. And the Covet etc sound like they have a blowing exhaust or a modified muffler when they're standard. Also, you cannot bounce any car off the limiter apart from in first or second.
May I suggest for wind sounds to be louder? it adds a sense of speed in my opinion, and when you switch to an interior view they will become muffled and therefore not as loud which would help keep the immersion.
The rev limiter just cuts ignition/fuel for a small ammount of time. The bouncing of the rev limiter you hear is the engine revving up, then being cut, then revving up over and over again. In 1st and 2nd the engine can usually accelerate in time for the typical "bouncing" noise, but in high gears it takes longer to accelerate, so the bouncing kind of disappears. I think that's how it works, do correct me if I'm wrong
just to reiterate with better knowledge. please for the love of all that is sacred, get a new L6 sound. the V10 sound sounds better for the T-series in all honesty
Or a separate diesel L6, that would be a lot better than trying to make one sound work as a gas and diesel. But the devs have already said that the T-series sound is a placeholder so I imagine changing it was the plan all along.
