Hi, I would like the power steering option from the ETK 800 series to be added to more vehicles, that have an appropriate age.
It depends on when the vehicle was manufactured, for example the Covet doesnt have it because its manufacturing dates were between 1987 - 1991, and its a lower budget car so as a result of that you wouldnt expect it to have it, While the modern Horochi SBR4 will have it because its a modern day supercar unlike the Civetta Bolide which doesnt because its from 1981 - 1988 when Power Steering was uncommon in cars
List of cars that could use power steering: ETK K-series Hirochis Roamer Grand Marshal '96 Pessima '88 Pessima (on high end models) D-series (on high end models) H-series Legran (on high end models) Hopper (on high end models) ETK I-series (on high end models)
Ah, ok. That's much better --- Post updated --- Anything American on here would have power steering. The only ones that I'd reckon would not here are the Pigeon, Miramar, and any race spec part config.
Maybe its because i am using keyboard but i dont notice a difference between using power steering or not.
I'm a controller user and I don't notice any difference. I know what it is for in real life but what does power steering do in BeamNG and how do they differ from quick ratio steering?
For steering wheel users it is a hell of a lot easier to turn the wheel, I have a G27 and I know it, for controllers and keyboard it shouldn't make a difference since there is no such thing as force-feedback. I believe there is no difference compared to normal steering (no power-steering), besides force-feedback.
i believe this thread needs to be brought to the attention of the developers... it seems quite odd that only one car has power steering... even if it was just a test, the 800's power steering works quite well, and should be ported to the other cars.
No idea if you noticed but i think that the point of the 800 series in many areas is to serve as a testbench. There are many things that first get experimented on with that car, and in many devblog videos the main car used for testing new features is either the sunburst or the 800 series.
My 97 civic didn't have power steering but most other vehicles I've seen do. Such as a 67 fury, 75 Newport, 97 plymouth breeze... pretty much everything but the civic.
