That means your normals are flipped, see 0:35 into the video.

If they are correct and it still happens, your opposite face is too close :)

Looks like it imploded on itself next to the car. All I know is that it has something to do with centering the model somewhere, the modeling software I think.

The problem is that the car's mesh is not lining up

So I tried importing a house into the game, but there still are no collisions. All the normals are good. I had the same problem with a garage I made. Also, nothing goes under the area I was modeling in.

Thanks to Sam this is what I have built so far in Sketchup it still needs more work but I am impressed with myself :) because I have never really done any thing like this before and it's NOT imported from GTA IV
but built from the ground up and seems to work in the game well so far, I just need to do some more details and texturing.

There is an issue with doing this. Turn the mesh quality down on the settings screen (which many players have to do in order to play the game) and many models that have an origin beyond a certain distance away will not be rendered. As soon as someone was lets say 50m away from the very very centre of your track, the entire track will disappear. Set your mesh quality to lowest and then try driving on the little track to the right of spawn on grid, it gets replaced with a 2d billboard, by the time its actually rendered the model you have crashed into it.

Great video but i have a problem.
i have a problem. my bridge does get any collision what so ever. i need help with getting collision.

    SOLVED
i followed the video exactly as the it says, but i have either missing textures when i put the .dae into game or the textures have a bright white overlay that i cant get rid of. (cant put pics right now because of bad wireless, but i can try if you need me too.

Thank you! This was way easier than i imagined it to be. Been making tons of shit using this method :p

Now i only need to learn to make a proper map...

Here is one of my creations (been spending a good 2 hours messing around on 5 minutes work ;)):
silly fun.png there is 1 ramp to get up, 1 jump, 1 wall to crash in and ''tiny'' stairs to tumble down (or climb up, been able to come halfway with the buggy crawler).

I put this into BeamNG for funsies, and it worked, but I don't have the screenshot for it in-game. It was a school project and I got reasonably far with it. It is supposed to be an orphanage, and I made it from a single reference picture I found. Here it is:

I basically followed the tutorial but i tried simply open sketchup making my objecct which was a simple ramp. I purposefully did NOT make in an OBJECT GROUP and exported it as the Collada DAE file and the collisions worked flawlessly as did the shadowing so im gonna see just how complex i can get. Maybe i'll be able to eventually start creating my own cars but im lost on that one. Anyway thanks for the initial tutorial.

Amazing! Great job with the video, not overcomplicated, yet explains thoroughly.

Re: [VIDEO TUTORIAL] Sketchup to BeamNG with working collision & textures (for noobs)

Figured it out, thanks!:D Looks awesome

Edit: Damn, got a problem again. Only SOME of the object have collision, but the other part of it (actually the importent part) I just drive straight through it. The other part that doesn't got collison I added on after I made the first box, that got collision. Maybe that's the problem? How can I solve it?
Screenshots if that would help you to understand my problem:
