Glad to see this back up - All the basic functionality seems to be good as well. But I did try to do my cheat, where I change the player driven car, and it doesn't work anymore. Even trying brakes the mod to the point where you have to close the game and relaunch. Just a request for a future update - Could you make the Old School Olds mod an option. They have some derby configs that would fit perfectly to the scenario.
before i tell you 3 things that need to be fixed, i apologize for spamming you to fix the thing where you can change your cars and the ais car. but anyway the 1 thing is the mod keeps breaking, like during the derby the mod just stops working. number 2 the ai needs a fix. like the ai speed is good but the cant drive, like they just just go full power reverse into a wall trying to turn and kill themself or get stuck. 3 the random model picker for the random or mainly anything because it choose way to powerful cars and the cars just die right away. also some cars the game picks for derby dont work, so they are useless. also when will the figure 8 be put into action?, will be interesting
I would like to see the cars with a little higher suspension and taller tires so you can get through the mudpot track easier. That pro derby barstow is a fun ride though!
An idea to ponder for later. Once the nodes dilemma gets figured out, how about adding in a derby mode that consists of heats? I guess there's an app that can save vehicle damage before a respawn. Prep time to "weld" nodes and pre-bend, Run your first heat Fix your car, re bend the tin, fix AI cars or find a way for the AI to do it themselves (unlikely I'm sure) Run the Finale or more heats
While that would be indeed cool and realistic, the demand for such feature is important aspect to concider, since the amount of work for that will be insane, if its even possible to include such feature. One of the things where will be issues is the car damage, because usually they tend to break down really easily, so it would require a hefty amount of reshaping and node connecting in the ''service area''. It would also need to have some realistic tools to fix certain things, using just a mouse to fix things with pulling nodes is not very convenient in such things. Besides, we're not able to cut the steel parts in the car right now, only reasonable and possible features would be to use some sledgehammers, hydraulic pistons to push chassis and panels and nodes would be used to weld stuff. Biggest problem would be the axles, I dunno that does they use nodes to connect steering rods, driveshafts etc, etc, and if they would, it would require manual camera to fix those, unless Bid would program something like an auto fix features to those things. Realistic and cool idea, definitely worth to think, but not possible right now and would take ages to create.
While I would love to have some of the things talked about here. What about having something where you have your heat and then you take your damaged car juat the way it is to the feature. Is just that feature feasible? Or still a ton of work?
Well have you seen the damage your car takes during one round ? I doubt that it would be drivable anymore after one round haha.
But if it stopped at 3 or 4 cars left running so that they all went to the feature? You dont take just 1 car to the feature IRL. In the heat you stop when theres 25 to 50% of the cars left running. And they advance to the feature.
Yea I know, just having a bit tongue in cheek there. Trouble is thou, that can the game save the exact vehicle damage data and move that into the next heat.
Seriously, me i love the how the IA are presently. I race with 8 cars and they are a lot more action. High speed hit, flipping car, hit and something get struck on the wall, big pile up in wall coner.... Now you can push the other car in the wall....... And since a long time, now i can win some race.
as you guys were saying heats would be cool. 2 things i am waiting for about this mod. 1 the figure 8. and 2 when we can chose are own cars for the derby. since school i have not had a derby in a while.
I wouldn't mind being able to choose my iwn setup if it could restrict.you to the rule set of the class that you picked
Sometimes it runs... sometimes it needs 10-15 restarts... most it crashes..... and the 2 derby packs (beamo & f150) doesn´t load anyways.. <
I know, it's unstable sometimes, but the main game itself got also a bit unstable and stepped back in terms of performance, so the issue can be difficult to determine. Mod is still WIP, so patience obviosly is needed sometimes. Bid improves it all the time in the end.
Best bet is yo run without the extra mods. I have no problems qhen i just tun the game with stock mod/configs. None od the other moda added
