This happened right before I went on vacation and I just got to review the footage. It was the worst possible combination of factors.
There's a cyclist in the shade. Couldn't see him at all until I was right on top of him. EDIT: Just re-uploaded the video with slow motion.
So I learned an important lesson this weekend... Don't park on the side of the road if you can't see where the ravine/ ditch goes. Also, don't just hook a tow strap to a seemingly convenient hole in the chassis... I ended up puling too far forward and the front right tire went over a concrete lip that I hadn't seen in the overgrowth. This lead to the car being on the front right and rear left tires as well as part of the frame. Thankfully the college I attend had reserved the park I was at and lots of passerby's tried to get me out. I was able to get my car pulled out but also "enlarged" one of the holes in the chassis...
Nah. I'm more into driving the hell out of them than trying to look like a cop. A lot of retinas were burned before the beam of my spotlight though. It never really occurred to me that they sort of are chick magnets. Girls asked me about that car a lot. I think this is one of my favorite attributes of the Crown Victoria.
Interesting video from Euro ncap talking about how they are planning to expand their testing over the next 8 years and subsequently where we will see vehicle safety improve due to them testing it. All the clips of cars avoiding crashes in that video are pretty impressive too. Not just the forward collision ones but the one that prevented the car from turning into a junction across an oncoming lane. In the US that seems to be a very common cause of incident (based on dashcam footage) so systems like that could be really beneficial.
https://www.blipshift.com/products/anyone-order-tofu Come on guys, talk me out of it. The inherent weebiness, the fact that the AE86 is actually a crummy & uncool car, the need to save money so I can fix my Sunbird before the Escort decides it's had enough, bring it all back to me. I think this shirt looks cool and I need your help here.
"Crummy and uncool car" If this was on top gear, I would get a freezer and put it there!! Can you just stop saying import cars are bad........
Well... what does your wallet say? It's under $20, and you don't have to wear it around all the time Those lead foot socks are sounding really appealing now dammit
And you don't need a slow car only weeboos will know. --- Post updated --- Well wasting thousands of dollars into a car you will hate by the end is bad.
Just came across a post in a Chevy SS group, the owner of these 2 had that idea and they survived the hurricane.
Well, I successfully decided not to buy the shirt. There are maybe two people in my life who would get it, everyone else would just be all like "why do you have an ugly car and Japanese writing on your shirt?" On balance, spending $20 to look like a total weeblord doesn't seem the smartest idea.
