50 cars? You have given me an idea for something I can try. Will post the results later, lol... What FPS is 'Lots of nuts'? 50 cars, damn... I need to have a stopwatch to count my FPS lolol
50 CARS are you out of your MIND?! you are utterly insane...a server could do that hell I know of one computer a dual 8 core Xeon with HT turned on, which means 16 threads per processor which means a total of 32 threads...that could easily do that...and you try that on that processor you are utterly and completely INSANE!
I was getting something like 2 or 3 seconds per frame, but BNGD crashed. That's lots of nuts. I paused physics then spawned then in the editor.
thats .33 or .5 frames per second that has gotta be some record! did you have it set on low and that murderer in the room the Post FX turned off...
No, all high no AA or PostFX. New record; (imported from here) (imported from here) Physics Paused (imported from here) Warning, 33mb image. All set to whatever auto gave me. (all high and 4xAA I think.) 50 cars. BNGD crashed at ~80, I was trying for 100.
In my sig. i7 870, 8GB RAM and a stock HD 7770. Soon to be a i7 870 with new cooling, a new case with good airflow, and an overclocked r9 270x.
let me guess...liquid cooled Processor and GPU...I think my brothers EVGA GTX770 on stock has a little more power than that piddly r9 card and he has a 4770K I might get on his pc tomorrow and then run BeamNG to its limit...this time the gloves are off...I will do it..even if it kills a 3 day old computer...I will do it...
I tried it too! I also got to (about) 80 and it crashed, have we just found BeamNG's limit or did I get lucky?? Hahaha Not sure about the fps thought, obviously fraps didn't measure lol
so effectively in this current built 80 cars is about the limit...interesting...I will try it on the bare bones Grid map and see what I can do there I mean you have nothing around so less stress on the GPU at the start so possibly you can get more cars in there...but thats a guess...only...
Yeah, and since mine was running OC'ed to 4.5GHz should be close (pretty sure the few more mhz on my graphics card don't make a difference anyway). Also I was running maxed out with PostFX probably not a smart choice haha
I did it on Pure Grid, graphics card wasn't even lighting up (that means not even at 50%). I actually did get it a bit past 80 cars though... I just stoped counting and then it crashed, probably 90 something maybe even 100
then again we are all using different maps...I am gonna need to think about it for a while get a few hours to myself and then test it on Grid plain and then see what it will do...god I hope I can get past 100 cars...
It's 2:30 in the morning here so I've steped way from the computer and I'm now on my phone xD But tomorrow I will, without a doubt, go for the 100 mark haha that should be an archivement
Tinker with your overclocks and yeah I would target 100 cars but go for a modded car something light but them spam the hell out of it on the map or cheat and use low settings but bluff it off as high settings haha
I wanted to stick with the default van and max settings (maybe without PostFX) so I don't feel like I'm cheating haha I can get my CPU to 5.0GHz for testing though, I had it there for some weeks before
Dear god it's even worse 4670k is at 4.3GHz 770 is at 1.3GHz, for those who asked. (imported from here)
Dude, I did it!! hahahaha I really have no way of proving though, here's a screenshot but you can't really see the end of the line of cars :s haha The only way I know that there were more than 100 cars is that I was naming cars going through my keyboard (first one was 'q' then 'w' then 'e', when I reached the end I started doing 'qq' then 'ww', etc. I got to 'wwww' since my keyboard is a Portuguese keyboard, it has 26 letter keys (not counting 'รง' since you can't use it), that makes 26x4+2=106 cars!!! DD I was adding cars with the physics OFF and turning them ON for 5 seconds every time I added 5 more cars, that means at 105 cars is was working even with physics (working is subjective xD since I could barely see them moving and I'm sure it would have crashed if I had it for more than 10 seconds). However, adding the 106 crashed the game even without enabling physics... My conclusion is that it seems to be a RAM limitation. I very quickly (at about 40 cars, maybe?) I reached over 5GB of RAM used, being BeamNG a 32 bit program it can only max out at 4GB, it this case 4GB for BeamNG and 1 GB for windows itself. I also notice that the game was getting pretty laggy even without the physics. I was getting less than 10 fps with 100 cars with the physics OFF! Let alone with them ON...
