There should be a mod where you can actually see the leaking anti-freeze and oil coming out of your car's radiator/engine and on the ground where it leaked out.

While it would be a nice feature to see added, the devs have greater priorities. They have also made mention that features such as leaking fluids, airbags, and flying glass would cause an enormous amount of lag/FPS drop, to the point that it would be detrimental to add them.

to be fair, just the PARTICLE EFFECT of the liquid dripping would be enough.

Why would such a small effect have such an adverse effect on performance?

      1. So you don't have a puddle floating over a cliff face or street curb
On the other hand, a particle effect that wraps on top of the ground decal and geometry could work, but it'd be a little tricky. It's definitely possible, almost easy, but it may not perform the best because of these things.

Actually, just a particle effect over a single spot of the radiator that goes infinite to the ground until the map ends would work. It wouldn't create a puddle or show a puncture or anything, but it would show that the radiator is leaking.

agreed. that and maybe a simple "blood pool" like mechanic would do the job just fine.
i have no idea why people always seem to think that every little detail has to be simulated dynamically.
i guess they have a "impossible/low priority/would make the game lag" shortcut mapped to their keyboards.

The game is a simulator and the dev team tried to do everything right within reason. To do something and not do it right just isn't like them. If something would take too long compared to the value it would add, then it gets added to the "low priority" category and that is the response given to someone suggesting it.
