How to fix a motherboard.

 

So another day another pc related problem for me! My headset is now unusable as it has super high interference and all so any recommondations on what to get? My budget is around 130 euros

 

Have you tried it in another computer? It could be the motherboard.

 

I always find it funny when people say it is the motherboard since I have a damaged one and have been using it "flawlessly" for 10 months XD
Perhaps just unplug stuff and plug it back in (usb headers and such)

 

dont think its the motherboard as my other headset works fine also im guessing its the drivers of the headset as its made for windows 7 and ive got windows 10 also ill probably trade it in and as its still got full waranty i get my money back so i can get a new on for that in exchange

 

Honestly, interference like that would most likely come from the motherboard. Are you using the motherboard's onboard audio with that headset? And does the other one use onboard audio?

 

My mainheadset uses USB and the other one normal headphone connectors could it maybe be my internet connection wich lags or something?

 

The USB adapter has died. That's why there's interference.

 

If it only does it over the internet, then there is a very tiny chance that that's it, but I doubt it. Try it in another PC if possible. Preferably a Windows 7 one. It's better than just assuming it's dead and getting a new one

I'm guessing you got one of those control things on them, because somtimes, especially on cheap headsets, they can be bad

 

It wasnt cheap but if it has died ill give it back then so that ill get my money back so i can get a new one as its my third one of them in 3 years so wich one to get i got my eyes on a teufel cage but i dont know if its good or not. Maybe something else?

I've yet to buy a higher end headset so I wouldn't know really what to look at. The mixed sound thing on those headphones sounds interesting though

 

Agreed that sounds interesting also my dad and my sister have teufel earphones and they sound briliant but i dont know about the mic part of it as its theyr first one

 

Finally got my PC set up after moving house and decided it was time for a new monitor, upgrading from a 1080p Bush brand TV we got at argos in like, 2012... the difference is insane, its way clearer.

Its a Dell Ultrasharp 2413F. Its a somewhat over the top professional editing type monitor it has a huge range of colours but most important to me its 1920x1200. I have also managed to get a stable overclock of 80Hz vs the default 60Hz, pretty much gets rid of the the noticeable ghosting this monitor has.



Only downside is that its got quite a bit of backlight bleed but I have been using an old CRT monitor for a few days before this arrived so I got a bit used to it being so good at blacks.

 

Noted. I may ask about how you find it at some point in the future. I'm actually using a cheap flatscreen TV from 2012, and it's anything but sharp.

 

I just got lucky on ebay really, something like a 2412m should be easier to find and quite similar, plus its probably a little better for gaming and such.

 

Back light bleed is OK as long as it is uniform, it gets spoiled if one edge has bad bleed. My old HP ZR24W is the same resolution and has very good backlight bleed, but hasn't got a high contrast (1000:1) so not crazy but it's uniform bleed so it's alright. My viewsonic XG 2401 is higher contrast but it is not uniform so it feels a lot cheaper and worse to look at

 

Yeah normally I wouldn't really notice but with this monitor though its on the bottom two corners, you can see it in pretty much any dark images. Its kinda noticeable but its something I can live with to some extent.

 

So, recently I bought a ThinkPad x220 from a local small PC shop. I am happy with everything about it, like the condition, price (£130 with a brand new SSD) and the way it's been performing for my needs. The only thing I am not too happy about, has been the battery life, as it is still the original battery which came with the laptop when it was manufactured. I have been getting about two and a half hours of web browsing and discord from a full charge. I have seen how expensive the official Lenovo batteries are, and I wouldn't be willing to pay that much for one, so I have been looking around for alternatives. Duracell batteries seem to be pretty good, but I'd like to know if there's any other alternatives to those which may be cheaper and still good.
