I'm going to start this of by saying that I'm not trying to offend anyone. This is just my opinion. That's it. So I'm rather of an Android guy. I don't use anything Apple anymore because I'm just tired of their hilarious attempts at copying Android in general. I own a LG G6+ as my daily driver. In my school, about three quarters are Apple fantics who are ignorant people who don't care about any other brand. Or at least most of them. The rest are all Android people. So when they brag about their shitty 6 pluses in OtterBox defenders being wayyy faster than my LG I show them using it and how snappy it is. Then I ask them why they think Apple is better. They usually can't come up with a proper answer and they respond with something like "ohh Apple is better cause it's faster and smoother" or "ohh it's better cause Android is to complicated for me" How tf is Android complicated??????
Out of all the people that I talk to, I am the only one with an android. They all brag about having Apple phones. When compared, my phone is faster, but they use the argument that "Android copies Apple." Every time I laugh and ask them how long iOS has had a file manager, or who first made screens that covered most of the phone. I'm not an Android fanboy, but after experiencing Apple's planned obsolecense firsthand I could never buy another Apple product.
+1 to this, Apple is the one that rips off Android devices, and the software updates after 2 years that ruin devices and reduce them to a crawl. Never buying an Apple product again. Stock Android FTW
I still have my iPhone 4, it is basic, boring, and about as "streamlined" as a corn maze. However, I don't care about the "new" stuff, either. My phone still works and that is about all I want from it. Sure, it has battery life that lasts about as long as francium's half-life, the speaker sounds like a McDonalds' drive thru, and the backside has more scrapes than a Jetta's oil pan, but it works. The entire hive-mind of "must have newest phone" is something I really don't understand, there is seldom a difference made that justifies the price. Going further, I really don't understand the fanaticism about phone brands. And what is with phone cases? I haven't had a case on mine since 2010 and I have yet to have shattered it. Perhaps people think they are "disposable" and as such don't bother to take care of them because they know Apple/whoever will just release a new one every year, and the... smartphone fanatics (?) will still buy them.
I hear ya. Google Nexus user since the Galaxy Nexus. I can't even use customized Android phones anymore, let alone Apple devices...
I hate the nexus. Sent it to google like six times because of the charging port and charging port alone ( it was a tablet )
no you don't understand android IS COMPLICATED there are THREE BUTTONS THREE NIBBA THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I myself use a 5s simply for the fact I can't break the damn thing. Also the fact that I really like ios as a phone os. Android I enjoy on tablets.
I just use a flip phone. Easy to use, Doesn't Beep Every 2 seconds, Small, and Cheap. Though unfortunately the hinge also feels cheap XD
I use an S4 that I have dropped on my driveway, and it still works fine. However, if you dropped an iPhone on the concrete.....smash. Android FTW!
This is a goal of mine eventually. With a custom (i.e holes made with scissors) backpack and everything.
I personally like apple products (except the mac) because I am more familiar with them. I use a iPhone SE and a ipad airprothingy
I have a somewhat newer device a Asus zenfone 2. It's not anything crazy and since it's not a name brand I only had to pay $200 unlike most phones nowaday that cost $500+ If my phone does everything I want it to and well at that why would I wast $500 for something that can do everything a little bit better. I would rather buy an exhaust and cold air intake for $500. The only reason I bought a phone that cost $200 anyway was because I wanted something that could take good pictures, and the phone had by far the most versatile camera even if it wasn't as crisp as the "new thing" It also isn't a slouch which is nice. But like you, that's all I need. I can communicate with my friends take awesome pictures and watch youtube with a good screen. That's all I need and until it breaks or becomes very obsolete I won't upgrade. I don't need to. So pretty much what I'm saying is I agree and like your perspective.
Is speed the only thing people look at? What about the microSD slot Apple doesn't have, but most Android devices do? The curved screen my Android has? The ability to move to any OS I desire? My phone's still faster than most iPhonrs, but that's not why I have it. I have it because I can buy a 32Gb mSD card for 10 bucks instead of some iCloud plan for 10 bucks a month that has the same amount?
Only time I've even taken notice of a phone in public is when someone on the bus was talking on a giant, like 8" phablet, amused me greatly.
