    Hi there,

we have a lot of threads in this forum about what cars we want to have in beamng, which is fine. Everybody has its favourites to live out their fantasy.
But let us put this aspect of the game aside. After >200hrs in this game I explored almost everything i can imagine. I made my own goals, i kind of roleplayed for myself or just drove mindlessly around. By the time it gets harder and harder to find new aspects of the game to enjoy. Even with the constant releases of new mods (and updates) at some point we all hit a wall where the "limitless" posibilites of a sandbox are going to get boring.
Dont get me wrong: >200hrs in an early access sandbox game for ~20$ is a very good value (set aside there are members in this forum with >1000hrs on the clock). This isnt about complaints.

What I'm going for is the game aspect of beamng. As of now we have some scenarios, two little campaigns and a very short demo of what the career mode is going to look like. Thats about 5 - 10hrs of gameplay. After that there isnt much of a game left. There is still the sandbox simulator aspect but i hope you know what i mean. While its important to get the basics right in a game before you put in the rest of the f.. game i would say beamng has hit the point where the basics are pretty much ready to go apart from some minor issues.
So what i'm interested in what does the community wish for/expect/want in the career mode? There are so many possibilities to extend the playtime when all the maps and cars are tied together with a proper "game".
    Do you want Streetraces?
    A Metagame with buying/repairing/selling cars?
    scavenger hunt quests?
    Missiontypes
    Metagames
    Moneysystem
    etc. etc.
I'm running out of ideas, as you see.

If you're bored, try modding. there's a bunch of stuff on the wiki.

Getting bored was just an example to get my point accross. Making mods is for sure a great activity against boredom. But when i start up Beamng i want to relax and getting my mind free. I'm already in a creative job so modding isnt a relaxing experience for me.

This thread is for ideas for the gamification of beamng. Just look at My Summer Car as an example. This game has like 5 vehicles and just one map which isnt too big or detailed. Still it has a lot of incentives for coming back and put in more hours. Earning money with sidejobs and with that money youre able to repair your car. Getting for your repaired car a licenseplate. After its roadlegal you can tune it to race against the locals at the gasstation or participate in a rally. But before that you need to do some sidemissions for money. etc
My Summer Car has a fraction of the content of Beamng and is still able to provide hours of gameplay. Again: This isnt about complaining about the lack of a careermode in Beamng. I know the devs are also working hard on the career mode. I wanted to create a discussion how and what to implement to the careermode or future campaigns. There are so many ways and so many preferences.

eg. I would really appreciate a metagame where you buy beat up cars, repair them and sell them with a profit. With that money building up cars for different raceclasses.
Or a hardcoremode. When crashing a car to dust then it isnt possible to magically repair it. Even just denting a door. Dont want that dented door? Well buy a new one. etc

    Try modding.
I hit 600ish hours before I started to get bored (and most of that was when I still ran the game lowest settings no inter-vehicle collisions, and 20FPS), so I picked up modding. Now I'm at about 1000 (rough estimate, I launch a direct shortcut not steam).
Also, get a racing wheel if you don't have one. It makes many more possibilities, and adds to the realism. If I'm not modding, I'm just enjoying my mod.

Okay, I'm going to mod my english skills in the next time. It seems like it isnt that easy to understand what i'm trying to discuss here.

Oh, you're asking what we want career mode to be?
Start with 500 bucks or an old rusty pickup, then do races, demo derbys, shipping, etc. to buy your next car.
Ever since I saw this game I've wanted to be able to buy my own car. It's the thing I want more than anything, always have and always will. To bad it won't come out until 1.0.

I basically do in this game what I used to do with my toy cars as a child. Roleplaying and crashing, I can do this for a lot of hours :p

Right now I have a lot of time in from just doing hot laps. From what is known about career mode, what is planned sure seems like it'll be fun. I just hope that they have a similar definition of "massive parts library" as I do. If we get career mode as was promissed plus the ability to own many cars with a lot of diverse options for customization, my hours logged will get to unhealthy levels.

Agreed with your opinion. But even if I’m bored, I still find a way to find interrain myself. (Modding, driving, etc.)

But I am really looking forward to career mode. Looks fun!

Iv put a little over 1,000 hours into this game. I started with just crashing then got bored. So then i started to learn how to remake Russian mods then i started a youtube channel. So now i spend most my time in the game making mods or making videos. The node-grabber is something fun to play with xD

I am unsure why everyone seems to be misinterpreting the original post. He was just wanting to get ideas about what the career mode in the final game should have in it... not how to alleviate his boredom.

I personally think that a Need for Speed U2 or Carbon style of play mixed with more mechanically driven story line (there was no damage in either of those games short of a broken windshield) where you can buy more decrepit used vehicles and bring them up to snuff and race or sell them... or give us the alternative to buy junk cars... do a couple of mods... and then take them to the demo derby seeing as damage is where this game really shines.

A lot of the OP was talking about boredom and what is currently in the game, and the community already has a fairly decent idea of what career mode will be like through official statements/development posts and the preface campaign.

Do we? Can you tell me what the career is gonna be like then because i don't really know. Is the "rocky start" campaign actually an demo of the career mode or is it just an ordinary campaign?

Old videos tell a lot, such as "player will be able to buy/fix/race old beaters".

Statements tell a lot, such as a big chunk of Over the Horizon and Gabe's statement " it will be like SLRR but with every vehicle racing discipline", which in itself is most of what we (as players of the alpha version) need to know.

A rocky start gives some details, such as showing off new features and characters which will be present in the career mode (we know from a very old dev blog post that the mechanic will be in the career mode, and with the title of the campaign it is hard to argue that it isn't a prelude). None of the current campaigns are similar in design (aside from scoring) so the phrase "an ordinary campaign" doesn't mean much.
