So since the pigeon is actually a mini work truck, whats the towing capacity of this little fellow? Let me guess, max passenger capacity 150 pounds.. Towing capacity 200 pounds lol.

yes, but add thrusters, then you could EASILY reach 62 mph, lel

but yeah, definitely going to be extremely fun, looking forward to the update

Anyone know what "We have also sped up the physics by 25%" would mean?

It has a 25% FPS increase/ less load on your processor.

Not less load, it just means the processing of the physics runs 25% faster.

how do you speed up the physics without reducing the strain? Surely with these optimizations it would strain your processor less for the same result.

    Guys,

It is an FPS increase, as in, the physics will run 25% quicker on your computer, in visual FPS, not physics FPS. I am 99.964% certain.

I remember gabe commenting on this in some other thread. I am 100% sure they meant you will get 25% better FPS.

Yes, the physics will still poll at 2000 per second, and that will translate to more fps with the optimizations. If you v-sync to 60 you might get less load, but not 100% sure.

Ok so you have it wrong too.. The physics have been optimized to use less resources, which means they run ~25% faster than before.. Nothing to do with the physics FPS which is how many times per second the physics are calculated. (How many times per second all the node's positions are updated)

I guess I can understand some of the confusion. We could have sped up the physics by just increasing them from 2000 fps to 2500 fps (which would strain your CPU more) to allow for higher spring and damp values without exploding (but we didn't do that, because 2000 fps is plenty). But no, they are still 2000 fps as long as your framerate is above 25. Below that the sim starts to slow down. We optimized the core physics so that your framerate is higher and you can stay above 25 fps with more vehicles/on slower computers.

I don't really know why people would think that you guys would have decreased performance on a computer without any actual gain. I don't see a purpose to it. If you kept the FPS at around the same rate, AND increased physics FPS, then that would be fine.

Also, if I sound cranky right now, our pizza is taking way too long to arrive and I have not eaten since I have gotten out of school (about 5 hours), and I know that I am not the only one that will get pissy when they are hungry.

Any plans for a rotary car introduced in the game?

Just a thought, instead of installing a large V8 on the Pigeon for fun, a small-block rotary engine would give it lots of power as well and would be plausible.

Edit: Sorry, in the wrong thread

Yes, I'm terribly sorry, so it would be in the Ibishu Pigeon thread, correct?
