That stripe will be featured only on Edition 1 models which I guess they will only make a couple hundred of. As for a manual transmission option, I'm pretty sure there will be a couple of new Renault-Daimler engines offered with a manual here in Europe.
The equipment to measure vehicle emissions is super expensive, there are only a handful of companies in the UK that can do it. So you can average out everyone's cars and driving.
The governments aren't as stupid as it might seem. They realise pretty well that if they are going to deprive a working class citizen of his 25 year old ICE car, there will be no negative consequences, but if they are going to tell a shipping tycoon he needs to replace his fleet of ships with less polluting ones, they won't stay in the power for long.
Well, Bob Lutz is predicting that the self-driving cars will run us off the road in 5 years. On one hand, I think he might have finally overreached himself on a prediction, but on the other hand, he might have some inside Loominaty knowledge about it. In the past I've hated a lot on stance, high-risers, and other style-over-speed builds. I don't think we can afford to do that anymore. As far as I'm concerned, as long as your car is human-controlled and burns liquid to burn rubber, you're in. The real enemies are the forces pushing electric & self-driving cars, especially the self-driving cars.
The very last cars left at the factory are on their way to dealerships. The factory is officially empty.
1.) Isn't that an independent organisation? 2.) I still haven't heard hysterical ideas like "let's ban all ships manufactured before 1999 from entering major ports" or "let's make 20 km area around port X motor vessel free and have all cargo and passengers transferred by rowing boats" from politicians Don't get me wrong, I'm not some ship hater, I just brought them up as an example to show that whenever governments want to improve ecology (or at least pretend to), they crack down on privately owned passenger cars before anything else.
That prediction smells like crap to me. They are still selling cars today that aren't capable of self driving and many manufacturers don't have the tech to do it in the next few years. The reasonable lifespan of a commodity car is over 10 years. Any plans to trash 99% of cars on the road within the next 5 years would be catastrophic for the environment, the economy and many people's livelihood. As such I can't see that happening. However I can imagine that more people will be opting for driverless. Since it is very desirable to a large number of people.
https://www.topgear.com/car-news/classic/nissan-building-new-spare-parts-your-old-skyline-gt-r The R32 Skyline has been legally importable in the US since 2014 (thanks 25 year rule), so Nissan is building and selling spares for them to keep them alive. The program is known as Nismo Heritage. If all goes well, the R33 and R34 Skylines will be included in the program as well.
It turns out that apparently, what he meant is that sometime between now and 2030, there will be a point where we're given 5 years to get rid of our car. I still hope he's talking out his butt, but you know that's what the totalitarians want, so...
I was driving around in a Miramar with my G920, then got in my real car and punched the door trying to change gear with my left hand.
The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage... That car seems to be all kinds of weird to me. For one, it has a 4.0L Twin-turbo V8 from Mercedes-AMG along with some of their tech (since the 2 companies partnered), second, it is using Aston Martin's design scheme from the Vulcan for front which I'm not too keen on (my relatives think that it's very ugly). Plus, that rear end makes me think of that Ocelot Lynx car from GTA V.
So at the local football ground there is a company called "SLYDE" that are a driving company and they do a young drivers thing where you drive arond the carpark which has cones for lanes etc. So my instructor couldn't come as he had to dash off as his wife got into a car accident (roundabout) so i got the boss of the young drivers bit as my "instructor" well he said i was good and clutch control excellent, but then he asked me what is the fastest you have been and i said about 30mph and he said lets beat it. So we drop to 2nd gear, floor it and the revs climb until at 4000RPM we change to 3rd (powershifting) and we got 40mph! in a carpark! Then he is like take this turn at 30mph no brakes but i tapped them just a bit and he says stop cheating god that was a lot of fun even though it was a Renault Clio 1.2 making around 75hp. Drove really well too, wasn't any scary surprises near the "limits" didn't break traction but of course (i wouldn't in someone elses car, maybe mine *devilish grin* ).
