hello all, so i have decided to fall down the rabbit hole that is Jbeams and modeling in blender. im wanting to make a baja type set up for the hopper and need to make a custom frame, 4 link suspension, and roll cage at the minimum. i can model these parts but i want to copy and use the hoppers original frame Jbeam so that i dont have to make a custom one. Is there a way that i can import a jbeam model into blender to edit or will i have to end up making a custom jbeam for a frame that will be very similar to the stock one :edit, after some digging into the BEAMNg files and messing with the editor i think i solved my own problem, ill just copy the hopper frame Jbeam, and model make my edits to the model i want, export from blender as a OBJ file. overlay that in the jbeam editor and edit the stock jbeam to fit the new frame. \Any and all advise is still welcome
I Tried to edit the Stock Jbeam body in BNEditor but the jbeam Skeleton always bugged and it was very spiky.
The main part of it will be the frame, maybe even the axles if i have too. The rest i plan on doing will be custom Jbeams, like the full body cage i want to make and other extras that would be needed to make a proper jeepspeed/ baja racer. Ive already managed some jbeam coding, to do a track bar delete on the stock hopper set up, but the stock arms can only droop so far before it looks really weird. Most if my work on the hopper so far has been special shocks and springs.
Yes i need to modify the frame inorder to add a long arm/ full trac bar set up to it, moving the arm mounting points tward the center of the vehicle. So in conjuction with modifying the fram i will need to model new trailing arms. Also i might modify the stock frame to fix a bug with the original. How the JBEAM is set up on the stock hopper, once the rear axle goes high enough the rear spring starts losing effectivness do to the high angle it acurires do to the jbeam mount not lining up with the models
Well, if you want to modify the frame, you will need to open the Hopper DAE File in blender, edit the frame the way you want it, and then modify the JBEAM With the custom frame. Since my knowledge with blender is very little, i cant' help much here
:3 yup thats what i plan on doing, if you read my original post i plan on editing the frame model in blender then export it in OBJ. Then open the hoppers fram JBEAM into the editor over lay the new frame and edit the jbeam for there.
Ya i have to relearn blender, that and work is why i havent started, it all seems realitivly easy, but i say that before going into it XD
