?

Opinion on net neutrality.

  1. Do away with it

  2. Reform It

  3. Keep it as-is

  4. Add more strict business laws.

I can see where you're coming from. It shouldn't scare you, just make you think. Getting scared would be like watching "Dr. Strangelove" and then running to a bomb shelter because you just KNOW it will happen to you.
Do you expect rates to go up right away? No large company could conceivably and/or efficiently do this, since it would require lots of engineers to design new systems, people running cost and revenue projections, lawyers making sure it's all legal, not to mention U.S. courts potentially getting involved. Rate hikes would be a very gradual thing if they happen at all.

If you think you're going to be one of the hardest hit, just think about what I'll have to go through. I (and many other children across the US) use the Internet for school, and if I lose all access to my school website and/or Class Connect sessions and/or important informational websites that could help me with school, then I'm screwed. It would be seriously annoying having to pay extra just to access my school website and attend Class Connects.

Maybe it will finally make schools stop having us use those crappy educational websites, but that's too optimistic. I'm sure that the government will have protections set up for educational websites and online textbooks.

True, I would expect that schools will be protected in this (as they're large businesses), but who knows what might happen? What sort of "crappy ed websites" do you mean, by the way?

No, not at all. Trying to rush in such a system sounds like it could potentially hurt the economy, and they obviously wouldn't want that to happen. And I agree with U.S. courts getting involved. Especially if it's people wanting to sue Pai and the FCC for their decision.

And we can't forget we're talking about a country with a man like Trump in the White House, and the fact that he didn't even win the popular vote. To me, anything is possible anymore. The US is a madhouse right now, and I'm sad to admit it.

I sympathize with you and everyone else still in school. I had to use the internet in HS to do research for my classes, so I'd hate to imagine what that would those limitations would be like.

Did your school system ever make you use one called "Achieve 3000"?

And schools aren't large businesses, they are government-run organizations. At least public schools are.

    1. I just lost faith in Trump

    2. I'm in School too, and I'm actually in one of those fancy computer districts. (Ugh, 50 dollar rent fee) This will be a nightmare. The prices of the computers will jack up, because the School will have to pay overpriced companies like Verizion for Internet.

You just lost faith in Trump? Ok.
Anyways, people are putting waaaay to much trust into big companies and the government, ignoring their past mistakes in hoping they've learned. If people could learn not to trust them, maybe we wouldn't be in this position.

He was doing better than Clinton. I really don't want to argue about this, but the reason he put the travel ban is so terrorists and North Korean spies don't get into the country.

And yes, I know, there are innocent refugees that need to get into the country, but there has been multiple times where terrorists acted as refugees to get into other countries.

Trying to make me look stupid by rating my post "Funny" okay.

Either you're in favour of net neutrality, or you don't fully understand what it is. Literally the only ones who benefit from not having it are big corporations.

Net Neutrality means internet will be handed over to phone companies, meaning you will always be paying extra for data.

No, it means the opposite, i.e. the internet will be neutral. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

That's what they want you to think, but do your votes actually count to presidents? When was the last time the popular vote won an election? We elect people to elect for us.

Or some guy with a computer in a basement elects somebody for us. There was definitely something sketchy going on this recent presidential election.
