Well then, what do we have here? This beast is the UK import of the Gavril Grand Marshal, designed to compete with the Bentley Mulsanne and the Rolls Royce Silver Spur. It may never end up being finished due to my lack of modelling skills, but am going to give it a go... I hope to put a big chrome grill on the front paired with some big circular headlights, am also going to redo the rear of the car as well as the front bumper so that they better suit the vehicle. Naturally, it's right hand drive. (Need to also make the interior a bit more luxurious too) Credit to Gabester, for everything, I just moved stuff and edited it. Minor cosmetic update-20-01-2014
Bit of a change of plan with the Jefferson piste basher i was making. Still determined to J-Beam it myself, so decided im going to release a heavy machinery pack from little baggage carts through to big as piste bashers so i can learn to J-Beam better. Here is the smallest member (and hopefully what will teach me the basics of J-Beam) i am yet to name it literally took me an hour and a half in 3ds max just now Plenty of work left though.
So far i'm going to call this Project X.. Kinda secret, the first person to guess EXACTLY what it is might become the private beta tester. Excuse the poor blender skills. Its hard to make this without a blueprint. - - - Updated - - - Needs suicide doors.
While I absolutely love the idea, I've just realised what was bugging me about those pictures. The standard car's waistline gradually slopes down towards the front of the car. This is common in almost every car. In lengthening the bonnet, there is a flat section that breaks the gradual line. I know it would be difficult to fix but I think it would really improve the car! Perhaps you could slightly raise the rest of the body behind the bonnet slightly and work in the slope.... I had the same problem on a pickup I was modelling and when fixed it really does make a difference! Do keep at it because it looks brilliant! Also +1 on the suicide doors
Was thinking about them but it would involve moving the rear axle back.. I had noticed that too, it is on my list of things to complete, I want to get the major stuff finished first.. ..Like.. Working out what engine is going to fit in it! It can fit two moonhawk V8s in.. As you can see it is all a bit wonky, but it is just a concept at the moment.
Hmm, for the suicide doors I assume you think that the doors are too small? You could lengthen the wheelbase between the doors to increase their size if that would help. I also think that it would improve the proportions too. As for the engine, I like the sound of a V10, it is a bit unusual for cars of that era/class but would nicely fill up that engine bay!
I actually started a huge Google operation to find vehicle types utilising a tube chassis, turns out a lot do If you want an actual guess though. Monster truck because why the hell not when I'm stuck with random guessing anyway - - - Updated - - - Not big ey, go kart
Crawler? I'll start editing my guesses in here, no need to clutter the thread. EDIT: Little brother said a tiny bus. Lol
Yeah except they'd all be facing the same direction because you cannot change the orientation of physics objects right now.
Just a little project of mine that i've been doing recently.. Edit: Nearly done.. I'll try to get this ingame later . ----- Is it required for the parts to have names something like vehicle_hood?
