Hey, I play lots of Forza and Rocket League on my PC with my Xbox One Controller and it works just fine. However, BeamNG won't even detect the controller. It detects my Keyboard and my Mouse under Hardware in Controller Options but not my Xbox One Controller. I am on Windows 10, I have installed the latest Microsoft drivers for the controller, the controller is listed in the Device Manager under Xbox Peripherals > Xbox Controller and the controller is wired via USB to my computer. I have tried reinstalling BeamNG. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know I'll get lots more fun out of this game if I can play with the controller instead of keyboard.
    Thanks in advance

Can you try to see if it works with Steam completely closed?
    (launch the game from Steam/steamapps/common/beamng.drive)

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that, even tried as an admin but it still only detects my Keyobard and Mouse.

Do you have any third-party software/driver? (stuff like MotionJoy and etc).

Where did you get your drivers?
AFAIK in Windows 10 they are already built-in, you don't have to get anything anywhere for it to work?

I got my drivers by installing an app through Microsoft store called Xbox Accesories or something like that. I had drivers before that, the controller was working fine, but I used the app to install the latest drivers since I thought maybe it has to do with that. I don't use any other third party drivers (that I know of). I had vJoy installed a while ago but that has been uninstalled and the drivers have been removed. Come to think of it, I think I tried installing old drivers for my ancient MS Sidewinder FF Wheel. Maybe those are causing trouble? I actually don't know how to even find the drivers in the device manager...

Allright, problem solved. I uninstalled the Controller driver, unplugged the controller, restarted my computer, plugged the controller in again and then I went to Device Manager to see if it was installed automatically and it was. Now BeamNG recognizes the device. Weird!

Try a different micro-usb cable. I'm not sure why, but that sometimes works for me when I use my controller for GTAV.

This problem happens to me as well. If I don't power on the controller and connect it to my PC, BeamNG won't recognize the controller. Similarly, if I disconnect the controller whilst the game is running and try to reconnect it, it won't be recognized. So far, BeamNG is the only game in my library (150+ games) that does this. @Nadeox1

Doesn't that mean that the controller is off? o_O

Is that a wired or wireless controller?

It's a wireless controller. Sorry, my previous post is a little obscure. By "disconnect" I mean power off/disconnect from the dongle that's plugged into the PC.

Go to Steam Big Picture's mode > Settings > Controller settings and make sure no checkbox is checked, those can cause problems.
