I would like to bring to everyone's attention of an idea that I've had for quite some time. I myself have enjoyed BeamNG since the early days on a friend's PC and I inevitably ended up purchasing it for myself. The entire game has an excellent selection of vehicles, however there is still a vehicle I have yet to see. A 1989 Grunman LLV. The vehicle I'm suggesting wouldn't end up as an exact replica, of course. Perhaps, we can rebrand it under the "Mail SLV" or short-life vehicle as a spoof of the "long-life vehicle" as users intend to smash the hell out of it, and reduce the life expectancy considerably.

The basic shape is an aluminum box with a 1982 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer chassis and 2.5L I-4 TBI "Iron Duke" and, in later production, General Motors 2.2L I-4 iron block/aluminum head engine. The instrument cluster is similar to a Chevy S-10.

    The dimensions as follows:
    Wheelbase 100.5 in (2,550 mm)
    Length 175.5 in (4,460 mm)
    Width 75 in (1,900 mm)
    Height 85 in (2,200 mm)

I should wish to add that the narrower spacing between the front wheels vs. the rear wheels would make for some hilariously poor driving.

Just imagine turning the car from the first jpg I attached to the second jpg or even worse.

I myself am a mail carrier and I personally would love to crash this thing over and over again. However, I am not learned in the art of creating content for this game. Also, could we maybe get a map with mailboxes on it? I know, I know, "What do you think!? The skies' the limit here!?" Just making a suggestion since I am only an enthusiast of the game. I spend most of my time delivering the mail.

It has great potential as the slowest pursuit vehicle ever! Plus it's all square and has mail in it, which makes it even more awesome.

    I shall second your proposal.

It would be really easy to make since frame and drivetrain can be borrowed from 90's Gavril lineup.

I think the mail truck I drive had a previous driver that removed the speed governor. It would definitely get up and go big time, especially if it was empty, but they all roar. I mean, it is deafening inside the cabin.

Cool. I'm glad to hear that it would integrate into the game well. How do we go about getting this developed? Is there a BeamNG guru that I can beg to look into it? I would be willing to pay...

At one point someone (YellowRusty?) had a suggestion on a larger delivery truck, I would like to see something like his suggestion in game. It was easily modified to fill a large time interval and a larger delivery truck would be more unique and useful for career mode than an LLV sorta thing.

It would be very easy to make this. You could take a pigeon box-van, stretch the body, and put it on a D15 short frame.

Well, I mean, USPS fills roles that UPS doesn't. A game with this many cars, I can't imagine that it would be difficult to integrate either one or both for that matter. Unfortunately, I am not an individual who is capable of creating such content. At least not yet, anyways, I would if I could. I merely spend this free time I have, which is rare due to the arduous hours at the Post Office, playing video games fairly casually. Like I said before, I wouldn't mind sending someone a little PayPal love if they did create such content.

    Cheers

I'm just saying if the time was to be spent on a vehicle creation (6-12 months) it would be better spent on a larger delivery truck because it would cover a larger section of content. Perhaps if we get an LLV sized platform it wouldn't be too time consuming, but without a pre-made platform I think the larger truck just makes more sense.

I've seen modders offer there services for money, but even a poor quality mod can be expensive. Donations are common, but if a modder is only doing it for the money, it will cost more than its worth.

Getting to play with it in a video game is worth a good bit of money to me. I'd have to see some numbers to determine whether or not it is too much for me to pay. I think my cap would have to be $100 on this sort of thing, yet I can't help but feel that might not be enough. Regardless, I would also be in favor of a large delivery truck. Maybe painted brown and its called, Expresso Gordo, or something comparably ridiculous. I imagine it would be on a similar platform as the box truck.

That being said, I can't help but feel integrating a component where there is a scenario where you can deliver mail down a route or something wouldn't be anything but hilarious. Could you imagine some sort of emitter where you stop inside a generated circle, and then you press a key and a brown taped-up box with the words, "FRAGILE" gets thrown out (maybe hear the crashing of some glass) and then you drive to the next way point. I think it would certainly make for a great addition to the pre-existing list of scenarios.

How do I go about getting any of this set in motion?

That needs to be a thing.

As far as how much money this would cost, $100 might incentivise someone to make a fair quality mod. An LLV/delivery truck is probably easy to do so you might be able to find someone willing to do it for a reasonable price. However, most of the better modders I can think of have at least one personal project lined up which would take priority over anything other than a very large sum of money. The only example of a paid vehicle offer actually going anywhere that I can remember was the excavator https://www.beamng.com/threads/build-a-excavator-on-beamng-paid-job.43543/. Some guy working for some agency offered $3k for a fully functional excavator, small map, and a video showcase. Obviously that is a lot more work than an LLV but it is an example of such transaction nonetheless. Not sure whatever happened with this after August.
