Is it possible to convert a vehicle's automatic transmission into a manual?

I have a specific vehicle that has no manual transmission, nor a mod for one. I really want one, but I haven't done any content creation before.

My question is, is it easy to convert an automatic transmission into a manual transmission, or is it easier to just redesign a whole new manual trans?

Even if you do convert the auto to a manual, the gear ratios are likely going to be very akward. I'd suggest simply making a manual from scratch (if you don't know how to code it, you can always take the code from the vanilla BeamNG transmissions as reference)

 

Yes, it's pretty easy. For a quick fast no effort way, copy in a manual from some other vehicle and just modify the name. Edit gearing and you're done.

 

It’s a school bus, i’m on mobile and forgot the exact name but it isn’t on the repo anymore (removed for copyright reasons). I’m also considering doing it for the flat front bus if that makes it easier since it’s still on the repo

ill check this out too, and like i mentioned above if i use a vanilla transmission, unless i use the T-Series, i’ll have to modify it a bit for the heavier school bus.

 

Re your message to me: Don't forget about a torque converter! That's huge in the way an automatic performs.
