Lets have a discussion about 3D printing, please collaborate / share your stuff via: http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2017/05/the-never-ending-bloom-john-edmark/
3d Printed ear and stuff, I think this is one of the really incredible good things in today's world: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-35581454
A while back i modeled a rotary engine One of my friend's dad made his own 3d printer and he let me print the rotor i modeled. Results
Damn, that's awesome - why can't we have more awesome posts like that! Thanks for sharing Completely printed and assembled yet?
Thanks Sadly we only printed the rotor, i would like to print the housings as well but we didnt have time and we ended up getting busy.
I’d love to have a 3D printer, but they’re unfortunately far too costly for me to justify purchasing one. Instead, here’s a Datsun 510 I “drew” using a 3D pen! (*^▽^*)
If you ask me, I'm moreso interested in the medical-aspect of 3D printing (although 3D-printing a car is an attractive prospect). Stuff like these: Is pretty fascinating in my opinion. It is usually cheaper and more accessible compared to normal surgery. Of course, there's a long way to go before any sort of 3D printing is used for more delicate medical things such as organs, but the fact still stands that the potential is certainly there.
really, when i saw this on amazon, i was wondering if you could build a car with it Thanks for sharing xD
Hmm that’s interesting. I might get one of those now. I am saving up to buy an actual 3D printer though.
I tried 3D printing a Ward LaFrance P80 Ambassador pumper on my school's Makerbot, but it broke apart when I took if off the raft... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I posted a pic of the model somewhere on the forum, but I can't find it now... :|
It'd be cool if BeamNG bought a 3D printer and printed the official cars. They'd look great in the office!
3D printers are getting cheaper, though the plastic will never... Yet, I hope I'll be able to get one, one day still. It would be really handy in everyday use.
I wish the non-plastic ones would get cheaper. Custom molded metal parts could come in handy. --- Post updated --- It'd also be nice to not have to pay absurd amounts of money for very specific parts when you could make them yourself.
