A while back I made the Unpopular Opinions thread on Off Topic and now I'm pretty sure it was deleted for well being dead, so I'm going to reboot it but only for car opinions because like 90% of stuff on that thread was about cars. Rule: If you don't agree with someone please, don't start a war, respect everyone's opinions. I like LS swapped RX7s I know, it's ruining a classic, but to me, it just more fitting to have a Turbo V6 or a small block V8 in a RX7, than a Rotary, Also it does have more pros to swap the Rotary for another engine that could have cheaper and easier to fix parts. Also same goes to the Datsun 240Z, mostly the 79 model because like any sports car from the late 70's, it was slower than a fucking pickup truck and a 10 years older model of that same car.
That's an RB26DET, though, not an LS. It was an inline-6 originally in the Nissan Skyline GT-R. This might not be so unpopular, but I personally think (static) stance is extremely dumb. Though I do like the look of some stanced cars, they're damn near undrivable, unless fitted with airbag suspensions that allow them to raise and lower the body at the press of a button.
I hate german cars, Love American cars, Love big and wasteful engines, I like rolling coal and just being annoying to people who don't care about cars, or to german cars drivers
I like LLVs. Not only do they seem to be the best part of USPS, the car itself looks like simple, but unique enough to be a classic itself. Plus, you can slam it, have fun, and even make it a project car.
Unpopular opinions? Yea. Suvs are dumb and killing the car industry Electric cars mean the future is going to get boring Self driving cars are going to become a failure and more important of all people still want to drive there cars Down sizing is not the fix but instead building better bigger roads... Not buiding roads causes quality of life to drop, even for the supposed "Less cars"
I agree with the last one. Did everyone forget how it was like WITHOUT roads, dangerous and tedious? I also agree with the second one, considering that the environment SHOULDN'T be the main focus for cars, as much as they should be for whatever reasons citizens buy cars. Plus... I hate modern GMC design.
I think that, when it comes for value for money, the US Big Three/Four has been on par with the Japanese or German brands from all the way to the late 90s.
It serves its intended function well. High horsepower at lower RPM while being somewhat more economic. I hate its clattering sound, vibration, and the smell. Also the fact that it always requires turbocharger to be decent makes me dislike it. Only if someday NA diesels can match its turbocharged counterpart....
