You have to chceck if your GPU is DX11 compatible (without it the game will not work).
Since your GPU doesn't meet the minimal requirements it might be the cause of your problem.
When it comes to removing the mods... Go to your documents folder/beamng/mods and just move everything you see there somewhere else or just delete it.

But what is your gpu?
Have you tried clean reinstall?
Uninstall the game using program like Iobit Uninstaller, scan for all of the remains, delete them. Then delete the beamng folder in the documents if the uninstaller didn't do so. Then install the game from steam again.
There was an update to the game during those 6 months which could have lead to mods going outdated.


Remember, this is an early access game, which means that minimal requirements could change that's why it is always worth checking if your PC is good enough to play the game.

Also have you tried the dx9 version? Go to steam click on beamng>properties>betas>dx9 this one should work for your gpu.
If you want the access to the new features you will most likely have to buy a new one.

The game is having trouble opening some file.

My thought is that some file is corrupted on your end.

That's probably your issue.
The game is not able to read the files in Documents/BeamNG.Drive.
You are not the administrator of your PC, or, your Windows account does not have the permission to access and modify the Documents folder?

The game requires that permission in order to work properly.

 

Ok, are you sure you are looking in the correct folder?
'MyDocuments' should not require any network permissions, since it's a local folder on your PC.
Please verify that you are actually looking at <YourUsername>/Documents/BeamNG.Drive folder (and not, for example, OneDrive/Documents/BeamNG.Drive)

 

Are you logged in as administrator? (It shouldn't matter but I wouldn't hurt)

If you can't remove the BeamNg folder in documents, try changing its name so the game won't try to use it.
After all of the game files are removed, install the game back again.

restart your PC and try to rename it straight after you log in.

 

Now just install the game back again and see if it works.
