Hey Guys, I wanna talk with you about the approving of mods things like that. In my opinion BeamNG doesnt have enough moderators. The only one I know is @synsol who sometimes looks for mods which need to get approved. My problem is that this is not enough in my opinion. Me and also some other people complain that it takes a very long time until their mods get published. I also wait for the approval of an update for my mod since about 5 days. It would be great if there was a moderator looking at new mods every day so the mods get approved on the same day as they get posted. Last Tuesday were 5 resources approved within an hour. On the other days nothing. On Wednesday i uploaded an update for my mod. On Thursday still nothing, my update wasnt published and there also were no other new mods. Friday the same. Today (Saturday) the same. Ok, i've written enough, what is your opinion? Maybe a Moderator can also say me whats going on. This post is not meant to attack moderators! I just wanna talk, i don't want to argue. Have a great day!
There is a reason mods aren't approved the same day they are submitted. They have to put time into reviewing them, they can't just set them to visible on a dime. What if they end up allowing a mod that is actually a virus or full of NSFW stuff? They also can't accept copyrighted stuff either, I learned this the hard way when my Ghostbusters Roamer skin was rejected. Though I am wondering how did an Ecto-1 siren mod make it onto the repo. You also must consider that they work on BeamNG is well. Nadeox1 is a moderator. I think tdev might have moderating power too, though I'm not 100% sure.
At this point they need a moderator solely to deal with ivan's duplicate accounts popping up constantly But yes, we need more mods
I can remember these Ivan accounts: @ivan lochcov @hironman (Or whatever it was) @Gensta @TIOPEN @Randers And a few others that I didn't remember.
Except that Randers had a Minecraft figure as his profile pic... OT: I agree with what @Inertia said, and we need more moderators in the US.
That's a pretty good idea, but also a potentially very bad one, since most of the people willing to volunteer as mods would likely end up power-tripping and causing even more problems for the forum.
No, we don't have plan/intention of hiring forum members (some of the reasons are mentioned already). What @MisterKenneth said pretty much. How much it takes for a mod to be approved can vary, depending on their backlog and many other factors. They will eventually get to your mod. If you are not sure, you can contact them using the 'Author/Moderator Discussion' tab on your mod's page, which is a direct way to communicate with them.
I understand. I don't even want to know what would happen if you guys accidentally hired three of Ivan's alt accounts, at once.
