Here we can descuss the worst cars ever. The Yugo gv has to the worst. It is slow, ugly, cheap, and just awful. no one ever bought them, and soon it died of.
Yugo isn't bad, just underrated. It's easy to park, cheap and simple to run and maintain. Parts are extremely cheap. Headlight for example costs 8 euros. Every car is bad if you don't maintain it.
The difference between a Yugo in Yugoslavia and a Yugo in a western country is that the Yugo in 'Slavia was actually maintained, while in the western equivalent country a car was expected to run without maintenance because sometimes people only have 2 braincells.
The Yugo was popular in the Eastern bloc, simple like a Fiat 126p, easily repaired and pretty much rubbing shoulders with Polonez, either your biased like most people or just didnt do your homework on these cars.
Fiat Multipla. Tho a practical car, it was horribly designed, had crap electronics that failed all the time, and the engine was terrible
Maintenance like oil changes and frequently replacing wear items such as brake pads, bushings etc. is essencial. But if something that's supposed to last for the car's entire lifespan -for example, a power window element - fails frequently, it means that part is poorly manufactured. As for the Fiat Multipla itself, despite being ugly, it's actually an amazing design, from an objective pov. It managed to maximise space efficiency for optimal seating and cargo space, while retaining a small exterior size. It's ugly, but it does exactly what it's meant to do. That is the definition of good design The yugo was poorly built, but it gets a pass because it was super cheap, and expected to break often, not to mention parts are a dime a dozen.
I'd rather drive away with either a Splash or a Metro. I'm sure they'd be far more reliable. I could be driving a Yugo down the street and then the engine breaks or something. Forget getting out, the door handle would probably snap off after applying the slightest pressure.
This makes me laughing. I extremely rarely see some Yugo to brake down. Yugos can be seen here at every step. There are battered examples, but there are also finely tuned or maintained examples (Koral Ins with Peugeot 1.1 engine for example).

I simply don't believe in this. No one can convince me that Yugo is a bad car. I live in a city where Yugos was produced. Quality wasn't best, but this is exaggerated. They want to make people believe that Yugo is 5-min shed made car. That's simply not true. My father had a 1989 Yugo Koral 55 and went couple of times to Munich with it WITHOUT any breakdowns.
Doesn't it raise any red flags that so many people who has owned/driven Yugos would agree that it wasn't a good car? Sounds like he had one that wasn't a piece of junk. I'm actually surprised it held up. What eventually happened to it? I'd be scared that any Yugo I'd ride in would either break down or get swept away by the wind, since there was that lady that got killed when her Yugo was blown off a bridge. I'd fear that the wind would end up making it slam head on into a semi. That car would definitely not exist anymore after that, it would be such a mangled mess. And if it's as slow as Jeremy Clarkson said it was, it wouldn't be practical on highways. I've driven on those kind of highways where the speed limit is 70 MPH, but the Crown Victoria and the Stratus I've driven can actually reach those speeds. If I ever got a Yugo, which there's a 99.9% chance that I wouldn't, I'd definitely swap the engine for something more reliable and faster. Also, am I the only one to notice this? I honestly think it looks more like a Volkswagen Golf MK1 than it does a Fiat 127p.
My father sold it in 2001 and I don't know where is it now, so he had it for 12 years. Well, people travel with Yugos. This picture from Vienna proves it. And that thing with bridge. I read somewhere that Yugo didn't crash on that bridge because strong wind or something similar. It crashed because driver failure, poor road conditions and weak guardrails. Driving feel isn't scary. It's the same as every small car, Mini for example.
Very interesting. I'm even more surprised that it lasted 12 years before he sold it, considering the Yugo's reputation. Do you know what his thoughts on the car's reputation was? I don't know all that much about the story on Leslie Ann Pluhnar. Didn't hear all that much about it. As for driving feel, I'd guess that the car would be able to perform basic driving tasks, but since I've never driven one, I have no thoughts on what it's like to actually be behind the wheel with your foot on the pedal. It'd be the experience of driving it somewhere that my mind would be set on, for the reasons I stated before, and the fact that there has been times where cops pulled Yugos over just the check the car out. I wouldn't want them to pull me over just because I'm driving a Yugo. That would get annoying very quickly.
