Can't really tell what that is, but it looks like a pretty good restoration project. Hoping it doesn't give you a pain in the ass.
Make it like this plz. Jk. I don't know what your dad plans with that thing, but it doesn't look easy to repair
I've seen a couple early Challengers and Chargers around me for sale. Passed them up for being too big of projects or too expensive, but they were mint compared to that. Now that I think about it, old MOPAR cars for sale are actually fairly common around here compared to other stuff of the era. As much as I would like a project car, I already have one speedboat in the shed (which my dad built 20 years ago intending it to be for us to build a project car together), and another one sitting in the yard... No room for any projects right now, hopefully I can get an XJ project after I sell one of those boats, I would love an XJ daily driver. Probably end up getting something like a J80 instead of a car though, just because I am impractical like that.
Is he going to turn it into a sofa or something? I can't really see that getting fixed up with how badly rusted it is. You'd be basically hand making a new body shell by the time you'd be done.
Hey now, i painted two civics with spray paint and they turned out really nice, but of course I am in the auto body industry, so I new what I was doing lol. I can prove with pics if needed.
