OOOH YEEEEAAAAAH YEAH RUSH Some ideas I had for an RPG, tentatively titled "Stargem": The year is 2031. The story starts at a comet festival, when a newly detected comet passes by Earth for the first time in recorded history. The comet passes closer than anyone expected. It actually passes through the atmosphere, right over the fairground! The resulting sonic boom makes a mess, and nobody is quite sure what happened. From the chaos, a hologram of an extraterrestrial emerges, towering over the crowd. It says one word, then disappears: "submit." The next day, reports of missing persons swamp the police station. Airport customs are confused by visitors from countries that do not exist, and never have existed. The cryptocurrency market loses 100% of its value. Sea levels are reportedly falling by eight inches an hour. Museum pieces are disappearing. Astronomers discover a small planet made of what looks like pure metallic hydrogen, and there seem to be humans living on, or rather in, it. A shadowy cult runs rampant. The government tries to cover up a simple weather report. What the hell is going on?
Everyone talking about metal and I'm over here like "Metallica's pretty good." In all seriousness, give me some symphonic or power and I'm a happy guy.
True that. I'd have to say some of my favorite Metallica songs are Enter Sandman and For Whom The Bell Tolls. Joining in on the metal discussion, I like DragonForce. There's several songs of theirs that I enjoy listening to.
Uhhhh, my favorite metal is nickel, but gold is pretty good too. (´꒳`*) Don’t get me started on zinc though... Ugghhh. ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
I can't get too much into some of the harsher metal bands, but I love the 80's metal sound. Iron Maiden and Dio are always going to stay up there as some of my absolute favorites. I've recently gotten into Tool and A Perfect Circle, but for the most part I don't get into the more "mainstream" (<-not the best word) metal bands that get lots of radio airtime. Sabaton is pretty damn good though. Same with Falconer. Mindtraveller and The Clarion Call are great pump up songs.
Sure, let's get into some prog rock. Yes is criminally underrated. Also, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer is amazing. It's a damn shame Keith Emerson left us the way he did.
It sure is.... Now Carl Palmer is the only one left... Could never get into most of their stuff, I just thought it was too progressive and experimental. Tarkus is awesome though. I was always more the Genesis kinda guy wanted everything to sound perfect and clean, ELP can get a little too busy at times. On the other hand I really like Yes so what do I know...
Some of their stuff is just too much, but for the most part it is pretty good. I never got too far into the Genesis discography, but it's one of the bands I have on my list to get through
Slipknot is a metal band, although the sub-genre is unspecified for it. I'll debate so. It's not really that bad, there are much worse "screamo" metal bands around, and probably way more worse songs. I'm a fan of Slipknot, by the way. --- Post updated --- Nu-Metal is not really pop-ish, but it's definitely not heavy. (No, that's not a joke cash-in.) Also, it seems like Korn is not only Nu-Metal, but also Heavy Metal.... I'm confused. Plus, Slipknot (I already told you that they denied that they fit in the category of nu-metal), Disturbed, Hollywood Undead, Metallica, System of a Down, Slayer, and Trapt are also classified as Nu-Metal. More confusion...
U mad bro? --- Post updated --- Everything up to Trick of the Tail is awesome, although I would suggest starting with a Peter Gabriel era album like Foxtrot or The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
No, just over-explanation. Like, only a few songs are rap-like. The latest one is Cashed Out, from Five. I'm not saying HU can have it's bad songs, I can admit, I still enjoy it.
