This is a fantastic mod. Glad to see that progress is still being made. The results look like they are worth the wait
OK so I was just wondering, are the body panels going to be as flimsy like real nascar fiberglass panels or are they gonna be like metal.
:O Looks amazing! Cant wait to do victory burnouts! quick question though, will it have the dual side exit exhaust?
modern day NASCAR bodies are actually made from sheet steel, apart from the front and rear bumpers wich are made from a carbon fiber and kevlar composite. this is why you see so many sparks when they hit the wall. however around the time period this truck is based on (mid 90's) the body panels were completely metal. the steel used is 24 gauge sheet steel. this steel is about 0.635 mm (0.025 In) thick so it can be quite flimsy especially during an accident. --- Post updated --- the other advantage of an all metal body is that metal behaves far better in beamng drive than plastics do. plastics tear but beamng doesn't cope well with tearing parts yes
Cheers The interior diffuse map is almost done. Then its just the chassis and suspesion one to do before i can start on the bodywork.... and of course... skins!
man it would be cool if we would be able to tear the rear axle off like Ryan Newman's crash in 2003 but tbh that's the only time I have seen the rear axle come off...that and it would completely screw up the rear suspension
