Should the "empty" grille be replaced with the one from the Hopper on all hoods?

Hehe... well... the steering geometry is a bit silly on these things, so that might just add itself in when I build in the real steering system... Right now, there is none. It's actually pretty responsive.

Oh what I meant was if you stop on a slope then it flips over on its roof

Well... I am still unsure what you are talking about, but if the real one would do it... this one will do it.

    A litte showcase

A short video I made about the 100% working Torsten differentials made by atv_123 :p Notice, that it can't drive up that steep part because it lacks locked diffs, but when I apply brake & throttle at the same time, the wheels stop spinning freely & rotate at the same pace.

Mind all the missing pieces & invisible body parts, but the car still uses the previous (ugly) body... Also, the quiet sound in the video, no idea what happened

Do you have custom sounds for it? If not , I suggest asking @Alex_Farmer557 for some sounds as he is the man that supplied the SMC City Bus mod with sounds. They're not bad either.

If this is what it'll do without diff locks I can't wait to see what it'll do with them. You two are making excellent progress on this.

With diff locks you just wouldn't have to use brakes.

Yeah, I didn't instal diff locks in it because the real one doesn't have diff locks. They use Torsen diffs, so I attempted to replicate their behavior as closely as possible. What you see Sithhy demonstrating above is a technique called "brake throttle modulation" that is used to effectively lock the diffs together by using the brakes. This makes the Hummer much more capable then one would originally expect in the hands of someone that knows how to use this feature. Most people you see on the internet making fun of Humvees saying they aren't that great and get stuck all the time used to drive them for their job and were never taught about this. Once they find out about it, they have a rather quick change of heart.

Alright then. I know pretty much the square root of nothing about offroaders, so thanks for the info. When Slithy says that "it won't drive up that steep part because it lacks locked diffs," what does he mean? Will it, when more peogress is made, be able to go up steeper hills?

I meant that it had trouble going up some weirdly shaped terrain (like in the video) because with an "open diff" the wheel which has more slip spins freely instead of the one that is on the ground, so therefore the car loses traction & is unable to go further. When you lock the diff, all wheels spin at the same time & the car is able to go over more challenging obstacles, which also means steeper hills :p

Basically it has locking diffs, just rather than having to stop and push a button, you simply press the brake while applying smooth even throttle.

Alright, that makes more sense. Sorry for clogging the thread with my idiotic questions, by the way.

It's all good, I am sure you weren't the only one thinking it. This isn't exactly a common system used in many 4X4's.
