I think engine tunning and all the fixes should also be applied to the tech demo when the race update come out

I would think that's how it will go, or else whats the reason for having an Un-updated tech demo that exposes people first hand to the game before they buy it? Or else, just buy the friggin alpha, cant hurt to support at least these hard working guys, less the music and movie industry guys lol

And AFAIK, engine tuning can be done on the tech demo, just open the engine.jbeam file in //beamng/vehicles/pickup (since that's the only car available in tech demo I think) and modify that, just follow the car tuning thread tutorial.

I know that you can mod the tech demo, (And I have) but I simply want the options in-game. Though I would like to support the developers, I don't think the game is worth it, you can get the same amount of enjoyment out of SLRR

Or you can, you know, buy the game. The game is totally worth the low price it is at.

    Much help

I hope that was a joke. Anyway, Slrr is in a different catorgory, with unrealistic physics and no soft-body deformation (real-time physics deformation) so making a comparison between the two is fine in terms of enjoyment, but you could say that about a lot of games and things as it's all based off personal opinion. I believe this game is worth the money and more, hence why i paid extra (and MANY others did to).

The damage in SLRR is kind of like the damage in Next Car Game, watch some SLRR crash videos on YouTube. The physics are kind of shit, yes. You can customise cars the same way as in BeamNG except it's a lot more detailed. I don't care what others think, it's still too expensive for me

right, they are two different games. but for what its worth, slrr / 1nsane etc did use soft body physics, almost soft of. i shouldn't say soft body for slrr but for 1nsane, yes. SLRR wasn't too behind but it was watered down.

I dont have to watch videos of slrr lol i made www.streetlegalmods.com i know alllllllll about it

regardless tho $15 for an alpha pas that gets you free updates onwards is not asking much, at all i would of priced it at $30 myself because there is no modern game like it.

This comes down to: "Give me the updates for free because I dont want to pay for the game"

One of the devs already said the tech demo will never be updated.

Yes, I know, but the tech demo should show the player that the game runs smooth and doesn't have bugs, so I think it should also get updated, it's not complicated to do that

The tech demo SHOULD be kept up to date for the reason it exists in the first place. but more vehicles / maps etc is not necessary just the updated physics / tweaks etc

I agree to a point. The devs of kerbal spaces program used to keep the demo 5-6 versions behind the main game. The only demo I could ever find for minecraft was from pcmag back from beta 1.1 or 1.2. (Ended up pirating until full 1.2.5)
So, yes, the TD needs an update at some point, but I am not sure if we have enough updates behind us to do that right now.

ya its such a basic gameplay right now the videos should be more than enough but with a new update that is supposedly going to speed up the physics a bit, then it would be wise to carry that over to a tech demo so people who only get the tech demo to see if their pc can handle it, will have a proper idea

    No they didn't...
They released free at first. Then accepted PayPal donations, then started allowing a preorder setup but the whole time they carried on releasing for free. Not a case of demo being 5 versions behind, every version was free. Then the 0.14 update introduced plugin loading and persistence so they switched to 0.14 being the paid version and kept 0.13 up as a demo version. 0.13 has only had 1 major bug fix since then and no other updates. I got ksp as one of first 5000 down loaders on initial release. Didn't have funds to get 0.14 though and had to wait until 0.15.

We might release an updated tech demo coinciding with the race update (since the handling and other behaviors are so much improved). It won't have any more features or content - just the sped up physics, improved handling, and other myriad improvements we've made since the tech demo was released on August 3rd.

I think that'd be the best course of action, honestly. Tech Demo should always get major updates like that. Small things like car tweaks aren't really necessary but core component changes should always be moved to the Tech Demo.

Comes to the game's forum to say a $15 alpha entry fee is too much.:confused:
Go around town, grab empty cans, and recycle them if you must to pay for the game then. I just don't get why people come here to complain about an alpha being too expensive when an average console game is $50 + tax.

Gabe thanks for taking notice and possibly releasing an updated tech demo with the race update. It will certainly will get a lot more eyes on this game :D:D

Are you serious? Is this a joke? I mean, if I would be a developer I would be offended. How much is this game again, 15 dollars? And you don't think that is worth it? Dude, do you have any, just, ANY idea how hard the little team is working on such a high quality game? Try to find a game that's cheaper AND more fun. But go ahead and enjoy your free tech demo.
