Forum changes

Or IRC, Skype, WeeChat, Facebook Messanger, Twitter, Myspace, Bebo and whatever else. His point is there are better places to talk, like the official chat thing at the top of the page for example.

 

Myspace in 2018?

 

I thought MySpace is dedicated to just music now I use to have an account on there but that was in 2006-7 before I made my facebook account almost 11 years ago, I joined FB when I was like 16 and then in 2009 I went full time there when I turned 18 and adjusted my age accordingly to be 18 not a 20 year old since I lied my way in lol

 

But only devs can give a Staff Pick rating...

 

Honestly, I would say that I'm rather enjoying all these changes to the forum. It looks much more interesting now, and to be honest, I never really cared about profile posts. Sure, they were a handy way of communication, but I've got PM's for communicating with another person (without worrying about whether or not anyone else will sabotage a discussion, which is a nice bonus). So...yeah, I think that you guys did a great job with all these changes.

This forum have weirdest community I ever seen. Offtopic in almost every thread. Leaving the forum for dumb reason. "LOLZ and giggles" conversations in threads that adding nothing to topic. What is going on?

Yes, I don't like that mods removed comments in user profiles either. For me better option would be option to disable it if you don't like spam and make limit for max comments (for example 20 is maximum number of comments on profile page and another comment would delete the oldest one). But don't be ridiculous... This is still forum, not facebook.

 

Actually I really like the new format, it's free from some useless things (profile status or profile posts, 100 different kind of ratings etc etc). Also this forum update "cleaned" the forum a little bit since I saw a couple of idiots leaving this forum (sadly they'll come back since their life probably rotates around the positive ratings here lol)

@RobertGracie Thanks for recommending the notification number thing in the tab. It's a feature i didn't know I'd need. It's quite handy when you're doing other stuff at the same time.

 

Yeah well the amount of times you look at the tabs and say "Oh Look no notifications" and then go off and then a few hours later you come back and see "99+" in red and not realised it but I feel its a good addition to the forums I wish more would do that to alert you to things, one minor detail can help you spot when notifications come flying in, or in the case of the moderators come in bucket loads!

 

At least people will look at my user page now. And it is less hassle to get to other people's.

Would somebody please explain the reasoning behind removing status updates to me? It seems like a useful/nice feature to have and it seems like it was removed without much reasoning behind it.

 

Status getting removed was just a side effect of the profile posts getting removed. It could come back but its hardly that important.

 

Because we started listing our genders on it. The war on self expression continues...

Nobody cares that you have a penis or not. Or if you had one and now don't. Keep it to yourself.

 

I'm sorry, but I'm just not feeling the new downgrades to the forum, because there's no better option in removing a problem about the option by deleting it.
It was as stupid as Lancia removing the brake console on one of their cars to fix the brakes locking up.
So, as a very important move of my part, I am deciding to leave for a certain time and then will come back in like a week or two, the "updates" the developers have done to this forum really haven't made it better... They've made it worse.
Thank you for your effort into the forum... But that effort went into nothing as I'm suspecting a lot of people will hate the status' being removed.

Great job guys! I honestly don't mind the changes and I'm just glad that you care about us enough to improve our environment.
