But the Chrysler Imperial was an X-frame car and it's "The indestructible car" banned from all demo derbys.

 

I think he means this when he's talking about X-Frame

The Imperial frame was a hybrid of both.

 

It's still considered an X-frame.

 

I've always called the Imperial frame a frame inside a frame.

CTJacob said it best. To me it looks a frame that has an X-frame inside of it... I saw a guy put a 1975 Chrysler Shock bumper sub frame and weld it in between the frame rails of his Outlaw Derby pickup. Would you then say "Well technically, that pickup frame has been turned into a sub frame."? I don't think so.

BLUEBUCK, not BLUEBIRD

 

A cool visual style for this car would be massive fins and rear fender skirts. Don't know why, but I love cars with rear fender skirts.

 

If fins were going to happen, we would have seen them in the initial render.



Fender skirts are still possible and somewhat plausible though.

 

There has been minor redesigns of the renders before, I think emphasizing the tail almost-fins a little is not out of the question, though not likely.

 

Fender skirts are s3xy! If I could have left them on my derby cars, I would have. The moonhawk needs some! Bluebuck too lol

It might even underpin a full-size sedan or an equivalent to the Ranchero

Back on topic again, what do we think the odds are on the Bluebuck frame eventually spawning an official wagon or El-camino style truck?

 

If not, it would be an interesting mod Idea to make a pre-facelift version, more 59 impala esque...

The tailfins were outdated by early 60s. if it was a 1958, then it would be a feature possibly. 63 'buck will not have them, I am completely sure.
